I've been thinking about this a fair bit and I agree these 3-4 years will effectively shorten some players' careers.
Just remembered that one of the most talented young England generations in forever is being managed by Aidy Boothroyd.

I can reconcile there is a talent ceiling in international management generally, and I think that Southgate has been better in the role than some of his more storied predecessors. But Boothroyd is pointless. He doesn't seem interested in developing talents in accordance with a given style, with a view to giving a pathway to the senior team. He just seems to play the players he knows and trusts the most and just gets them playing a vague possession system.

By Cleff Go To PostCockteaseIs Rashy's top for sale?
Eddie Howe is still unemployed. Maybe he's only interested in club management or the senior job, but imagine how much better the team could be managed
By Daz Go To PostIs Rashy's top for sale?Yeah, I think Dortmund will sell him for about 100 million.

"John Mensah may have been injury prone during his Sunderland career but was a formidable presence on and off the pitch.
His former Sunderland and Ghana team-mate Asamoah Gyan has told a story to underline just how formidable Mensah was, even to his own team-mates.
Sunderland were beating Tottenham 1-0 at the Stadium of Light during the 2010-11 season, when Mensah gave a corner away which led to Michael Dawson scoring an equaliser on the stroke of half time.
During the half-time interval, as Sunderland players were unwilling to confront Mensah over his error, Gyan was volunteered to speak to the ‘Rock of Gibraltar’ but made clear to the striker that any criticism would lead to Gyan being physically beaten."
Sensational.

It's about €11.5m. Not sure he's even top ten.
Highest Paid Managers in Europe's Top 5 Leagues (pre-tax):
1 | Diego Simeone (Atletico) - €43.2m
2 | Pep Guardiola (Man City) - €22.6m
3 | José Mourinho (Tottenham) - €17m
3 | Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool) - €17m
5 | Zinedine Zidane (Real Madrid) - €16.8m
By domino Go To Postholy hell they pay Simeone 43m a year
not that i think he's a bad manager but that is robbery
He has been there for 10 years, and no doubt had offers from bigger clubs. It's just what it takes to keep him there I guess, and from all accounts, he seems important to the club.
Cue to Real Madrid fans crying over how much money Atletico use on players, and how they are really the little horse.
