think my main issue is still how luiz got a red for the same thing taa did, accidentally deny a chance at goal, a decision that essentially killed any chance of getting the 3 points, and everyone was saying it's the law of the game but every other goal scoring opportunity denied since is a yellow at best

Right decision but fuck me can someone do something about this rule.
If I was making them, Id only give reds for any fouls in these cases:
1. Prevention of a 1x1 against the keeper committing a foul outside the box.
2. Preventing a player to shot on target without any single player on the way, including keeper, outside or inside the box.
Any kind of foul inside the box where the keeper is behind the ball still capable of saving is a pen plus yellow at worst. A pen versus a 1x1 (keeper versus attacker) is almost the same probability to score.
If the last man is a infield player, red if the foul is outside, yellow for pen.

Pedro Gonçalves free kick, Coates heads the ball to Feddal whose first shot is saved by the GK but he is quick on the rebound and we are up 1-0 at the 27 minute.
3 minutes later, a failed clearance from Portimonense's defense puts Nuno Santos with just one defender and the GK on the way and he places the ball on low right corner to make it 2-0.
We controlled the rest of the match and avoided yellow cards for the players who were on the risk of being suspended for next week's match against Porto.
Our performance can be resumed by one word and that's the word most of the press has used to define our team, competent.
12th clean sheet in the league, 17th game scoring 2 or more games in the league, we have conceded 10 goals in 20 games (2nd best defense has conceded 16).
This has to be one of the most incredible teams we ever had, what they have been doing is amazing.
