A brilliant player and at his best the most technically skilled player on either side. But never the dominant figure of a title winning team. In the mid to late 90's and early 00's our most important players were Cantina, Keane, Stam, Beckham and Ruud. Then in the mid to late 00's it was Rio, Vidic, Rooney and Ronaldo. Even in the early 10's I think RVP and Carrick were more important than Scholes.
Benefited from being an 'elegant' player.
I'm not trying to take away any of Scholes's achievements or contributions. He was was an excellent player and contributed a lot to our success. But he was never the most important figure across a season.

Always felt that Aguero, Kompany and Toure were the dominant figures under Mancini/Pellegrini. They still would've won the league without Silva. And Sterling and KDB were more important to City in the Guardiola years.That’s precisely how I feel. Think he was overrated but that’s just me. 🤷🏻♂️
That's not to say that Silva didn't play his part in City's title wins. Just that he wasn't the deciding factor in them.
People slag off and meme about Iniesta but he scored some of the most iconic goals of the century. Silva wasn’t even instrumental in those Spanish sides that won in 08-12.
Nah you goals/assists hounds need to step off. Silva was excellent and was integral to tonnes of what City did.
