Honestly you get what you deserve if you can only create chances from the remnants of an aerial 50-50 in the final third
I miss the pre-VVD days
At least we were fun to watch going forward. This is just shit in all thirds.

Kabak isn't really fast. That was an easy win really after Salah scored and somehow Liverpool managed to make a mess of it.

By Punished* Go To PostAt this point I'd say you'd be deluded to think this Liverpool side will get top 4.You'd have to be one of those people who think momentum doesn't exist
We'll be out of it by the time we turn this around, assuming it even happens before the end of the season.
By Oddinho Go To PostwelpBane at it again?
at least a giant earthquake distracted me from the 3-1
was watching netflix with my wife for a bit and the score was 3-1. What the hell.
And that Allison goal wtf

Surely Alisson will recover from this jnext game but what were the odds that he'd make another game-deciding mistake a week after his horrendous performance against City? The poor guy's mental must be shot. Even Kepa doesn't do this kind of stuff.
Yeah possibly, didn't feel like he was busting a lung on that run.

Leicester very very lucky there I think. Super poor for 80 minutes but a marginal onside, poor visibility for the keeper and then that mistake...
By Willkiller Go To PostGod the Merseyside derby is next week too. The potential for banter is OFF THE SCALENah, they'd still beat us
By faridmon Go To PostTo be fair, Leicester still hasn't turned up.
Its just Liverpool magically brought them on
True enough.
By Hitch Go To PostYou'd have to be one of those people who think momentum doesn't existA good example of how people don't understand how randomness works, and think that concepts like 'momentum' actually mean something. Liverpool are still big favourites for top 4 with models and bookmakers

Give the trophy to Man City.
Cancel the rest of the season.
Let the players rest up, ready for the Euros.

Top 4 should be "easily" attainable if Liverpool played at a decent level. But yeah if say Alisson gifts a goal or two every week, that's not happening. The silver lining for most top 4 contenders this season is that all their rivals are looking below par. Could see Chelsea, Leicester, Spurs, Liverpool, United all lose 2-3 games in a row.
Leicester really played a poor game, thought they were asking to be spanked but in the end got the 3 points.

I still can't believe how much Liverpool imploded.
Leicester were awful for 80 mins and they still get away 3-1 inners

By Killer7 Go To PostAlso, Trent is going to be targeted by every team when attacking Liverpool.
It's the combination of 'TAA' and Thiago on that side
'Hendo' was going mental at Thiago even after VAR made the decision on a free kick
If you get past Thiago he'll foul you. If you get to 'TAA' he won't tackle you
I'm wrong about a lot of things, but my disgusting jealousy at the Thiago signing could be one of my biggest misses.
By Bungie Go To PostIt's the combination of 'TAA' and Thiago on that sideMilner going off didn't help them at all. Assume Henderson would have been the one covering that position last season to help Trent.

Barnes should go to the Euros
Say what you want about Liverpool's CB situation but the real issue is with Liverpool's midfield and attack. Jota's injury, Thiago who people have been celebrating for every 5 yard pass he's been making is terrible defensively, Trent being only an offensively brilliant fullback are all major issues.
The biggest one though is Klopp's one major flaw - he's the first to complain about match congestion and players being overworked but the last to react to it.
He shows as much loyalty to his "main players" as they to him - too much and to a fault one might say.
His front three need a break and his offensive midfield more creativity and stability. Thiago hasn't provided either, Keita as Trappatoni would say "is immer verletzt" (always injured), Shaq & Ox neither consistent nor good enough and Fab & Hendo switching back and forth as CB.
Some issues were clearly visible last year already - they were on their last leg after winning the the title prematurely and Klopp still went on to play a lot of the first eleven into the ground. There is blame that can and should be put on him.

If Liverpool iron out the mistakes, they should have more than enough for Top 4.
I hope they don't, obviously. But they're not a Europa level team.

I think Thiago is being a little unfairly maligned. He was brought in to add to a side that had a fantastic base but was a little functional in midfield. His two ideal partners have had to play CB all season.
By n8 dogg Go To PostAlisson lmao. Why did he make the decision to come for that?
Wishing he was Ederson

Didn't understand the BT commentary pearl clutching over the first Leicester goal. VAR got it right by all accounts.
Feels like it's just the done thing to do now, regardless of the context.

I think Jota coming back should give them enough of an injection to maybe claw their way back into the top 4 should they drop out.
The front 3 look stale as fuck, so if he can spice them back up a bit it might take some of the pressure off the midfield and defence.

it's just so obviously subjective at these margins that it's better copying other sports and using linesman's call
What is the blue line representing there? It's not on Firmino's foot, and the green line is for the Leicester player right? Looks to me like both lines should be overlapping eachother, so may as well give onside since you'd need to go microscopic to parse it properly.
Not that I'm too bothered about it, when its that tight and we've had a meltdown afterwards it's tough to give a shit about the spark.

Yeah obviously Thiago was signed to play in a midfield with at least one of Fabinho or Henderson there to babysit him. But since both are CBs now, the defensive duties are much heavier on Wijnaldum's and Thiago's shoulders. Because the third midfielder usually will be a random bum like Jones, Ox or Shaq.
Klopp and Thiago probably tried to get ready for that, he's been fouling left and right since he's become a starter because that's his only way to "win the ball back" or stop the opponent's flow. But that's not good enough really. Proper shades of Jorginho playing the "DM" role for Chelsea under Sarri, with Kanté being pushed up the pitch. Guy can't even run nor tackle.
Now if playing Thiago had a massive positive impact on the attacking aspect of the team, it might have been worth leaking a few more goals. But the truth is, as great as his passing range is, it's not really unlocking defenses. Ideally Kabak or Davies prove to be not totally garbage and Henderson can go back to playing in midfield to help Thiago.

I think they may implement that, eventually.
Abuse for linos will be horrendous unfortunately if they're making subjective decisions based on objective and reviewable evidence. A lot of people are just too angry and emotionally invested to acept being on the negative end of a margical call. Unless you mean it goes to VAR, and if they can't make an immediate decision then they go along with what the linesman called in the first place, which would be essentially the same but provide a bit of a buffer since the VAR team is seen as being somewhat seperate from the officiating team.
