Well, him leaving allowed us to pay crazy money for Rúben Amorim.
The work Amorim is doing is nothing short of a miracle.
At the start of the season most people had us behind Benfica, Porto and Braga.
Besides Pedro Gonçalves and João Mário, most of our signings weren't that good on paper.
Getting eliminated from Europe early might turn out to be a blessing.
We have a short squad with lots of youngsters, we only had 1 striker available tonight, the 18 year old Tiago Tomas (Sporar is on his way to Braga on loan as part of the deal for Paulinho that should be announced in half an hour), we have one of the youngest squads in the league.
There's a little over 3 months of football left, we are still 1 game away from reaching the first half of the season. The 3 teams that are chasing us have to play at least 4 more games than us and that might have an influence in the league.
Still, it's way too early but I am going to enjoy the good times while they last.
Just look at that defensive record, only 9 goals conceded.

Somewhat surprised we could get Lerager in on loan with option to buy. Very happy with it.
Also got Bundu in, who is a winger with speed which we have needed... But he pretty much only seems to work on counter attacking teams, which we just cant be. So not too hot on that. But whatever. Doubt we will win the league anyway this year, but this is a good foundation now.
Got rid of a lot of dead weight too. Very sad to see the legend Michael Santos get his contract terminated though. #neverforget

By Meier Go To PostHad been conflicting reports about Jayden Braaf's loan to Udinese having a buy option over the last day, but they have confirmed that it does. Disappointing, but it is what it is. I'm sure there are a lot of clauses as a part of it, but has the feeling of a Sancho 2.0 situation.Depending on his behaviour.
There were rumors that we were also interested and plenty of people said he's a proper cunt without the necessary grinta to use his quality to become a proper senior player.
By Oddinho Go To PostI would really like to see Minamino do well at Southampton.
Not as much as me mate.
By KP Go To PostNot as much as me mate.Actually, I think Odd would be okay with Minamino doing well while the rest of your team plays shit, while you would prefer the opposite.

not gonna make it lad
Very busy day yesterday for Sporting.
Out :
Stefan Ristovski - 1.3M€ transfer to Dinamo Zagreb
Christian Borja - 3M€ transfer to Sporting Braga
Tiago Ilori - loan to Llorient
Rafael Camacho - loan to Rio Ave
Andraž Šporar - loan to Sporting Braga
In :
João Pereira - free transfer
Matheus Reis - loaned from Rio Ave (contract with Rio Ave ends in the summer and he already had a pre-contract with us)
Paulinho - most expensive signing we ever made, 16M€ + a percentage of Borja's salary while he is at Braga + Andraž Šporar's wages for the rest of the season
We paid stupid money for Paulinho, it's absolutely ridiculous but he was Rúben Amorim's biggest wish, Amorim thinks he is the best number 9 in the league, he knows the league, fits perfectly in our system and knows exactly how to play there so he should have an immediate impact.
He is definitely an upgrade over Šporar.
João Pereira is a low risk transfer, he is only coming for 4 months, he is still on a decent form and played well in Turkey, will be a backup for Porro which we didn't actually have.
Matheus Reis is replacing Borja as a LB that can also play as CB but is better than the Colombian.

I think it's partly guilt from having taken so many of their players, but I'd like to see Southampton doing well overall, actually. And I don't feel good about Liverpool signing a promising young player, who was doing well in a CL team, and then not playing him. I hope he has better success at Southampton
By LabouredPatriot Go To PostHave little to no confidence in tonight's fixture.
D D W W W D L L
We'll always have that two weeks at the top - a time when everything was possible for Manchester Club.
No need for United fans to worry tonight. We're decimated with injury and lacking confidence atm. Plus the ref is Mike Dean.
Can see us lining up with Djenepo at RB and Jankewitz in midfield.

You just know Dean is looking for the redemption arc tho. The Narrative demands it.
By n8 dogg Go To PostBaxter is still 'around'? Still remember him from his AIK Solna days.
Must be something he picked up from his Stockholm days as their old rival's coach, at Djurgården, said this the other day about leadership and methodology (sorry for the slight paraphrasing);
'You can say whatever you want about the horrible actions of some of the people in Germany in the 30s and 40s but they had [people] doing something together in a context. You can discuss the methods, of course, but there are things you can learn from - like what to implement and what not to use'
sort of content with our transfer dealings.
A lot of crap deadwood being shipped out was very essential, Brands and Carlo has inherited a mess of a squad and its really sad that we can't bring anyone in because of the huge wage.
If only Bernard also fucked off, it would have been even better!
Josh King being brought in for short (6 month) stint was very smart business decision. If anything, it shows that we aren't making the stupid mistakes we have done (buying Iwobi for example as an expensive transfer panic)

By LabouredPatriot Go To PostI'm sure he's good really.
Liverpool FC appreciates your concern.
sports gambling is a serious issue and it disgusts me when the arsenal twitter posts encouraging people to gamble
