The boys deconstructed the genre so much it reconstructed itself into your run of the mill superhero story by the end
They should stop doing overblown fights lol
The Noir twist (check it out) and Solder Boy 2.0 were waaaay more interesting in the comics

Kind of an eh finale because I thought Soldier Boy was on the right the entire time, they could've just let him kill Homelander then roofie him after. The whole season was kind of pointless thinking about it huh, kind of a sign the show is just delaying the ending
Good season but yes a mediocre finale. So many times this season it felt like it was building to at least one huge moment that never came.
Gotta be some endgames in S4 though.

also Starlight gets the SSJ buff only to throw out a shitty blast that pushes Soldier Boy a few inches back? Do better
By domino Go To PostHomelander weak af smhIt's not that he is weak it's that he tends to not worry about attacks because he is invincible and also that he doesn't expect that anyone would test him so he never had to learn defense.
nah, the show just can't write consistent power levels. Which is why there's been like 4 fight scenes over 3 seasons
Yeah, The Boys finale was def a bit off and not up to the standard of other eps this season.
Also, RIP Paulie Walnuts. Sad passing of a legend.

Finale wasn't great, wasn't bad either IMO, but the season was still really good. Looking forward to season 4.
Going to read spoilers on how they're going to bring back Black Noir I guess 🌝

Kripke says, "a character who is completely silent and in a black mask can be recast."
Come season 4, which will start filming this August, Mitchell will play "a different character who wears the Black Noir suit," Kripke reveals. "It's definitely not the last we've seen of Black Noir as a hero. It's just that the guy who was inside [the Noir suit] in season 3, he's gone. But we have Nathan playing a really interesting and hilarious character who wears the suit next season."
Kripke emphasizes, "We'll explore it as the season goes on, but Nathan plays a whole new character."
i dunno, lads... i liked it.
this is not a $250 million blockbuster; these action sequences are bound to be limited in some way. didn't mind it that much.
shame they killed off black noir, though. the lad was just getting interesting.

By Lupercal Go To PostFinale was fine, season as a whole was great. Will watch season 5 which will be the last ?Eric Kripke said he planned for 5 seasons, Amazon might try to stretch it but I wouldn't be surprised if he left like he did it Supernatural.
By bud Go To Posti dunno, lads… i liked it.Agree with the spoiler, was becoming a favorite plotline of mine... Ahh well.

By RATHasReturned Go To PostThe Boys finale was really good. Moved quite a few characters forward in their development. If by quite a few characters you mean literally just homelander, then yeah
Well his kid also.
But really, it feels like it's back to the status quo. Which makes it a pretty poor finale imo.

Big BCS spoilers
Surprised a fair amount of people are upset at them killing Lalo now. Seems to me like they want BCS to repeat the same mistake the BB finale made by making the finale action heavy and killing Lalo then?
I dunno 5 episodes to go gives them a lot of time to wrap up the most important part of the show, Jimmy & Kim's stories (and Gene's…). That's always what the show was about, Lalo was an incredible character I wish we got more of, but I don't think the show would have been much better if there was another season of him exactly.
I mean sure, it was predictable. But it had to be seeing as we already know how Gus' story, and by extension Lalo's, ends. The execution was top notch and outside of the action I think the show did a great job of conveying just how devastating an event Howard's death is and how it can be the driving force for everything that will now follow it

Severance vs Succession at the Emmys this year far as I'm concerned
Tony Dalton not even nominated pshhhh

Yeah, it's peak television. It's enthralling and precise and perfectly paced.
It's also an offshoot of another series that calls back to random lines and events from it and tries to make them fit and make it look like it was always planned like that... it shouldn't work and yet it's somehow better for it.
