on the topic - young justice adamantly refuses to be a consistently good show. they wasted so much time this season on interspecies throuples when we could've had DCAU Zod flexing this entire home stretch...
Big need post incoming:
Obi Wan Kenobi is just a bad show. I don't mind the rewriting or retcons of established history because that happens a lot in TV/Movies. But this one is poor because it's awful from a technical standpoint. Writing, direction and especially editing is shit.
The Leia chase scenes, where bounty hunters couldn't catch a 10 year year old in a foot race were bad enough. But the editing has made the show simply confusing to watch. Episode three ended with a confrontation between Obi Wan and the Empire.
He was cornered and a blast of fire was the only thing separating him and his potential captors. They cut to another scene and when they cut back he had escaped and was treating his wounds. He shouldn't have been able to flee and get far enough away that he could rest for a moment. Nor should that strip of fire been able to separate him and the Empire. They absolutely could have gotten around it or through it.

Vader his Force Push skill was on cooldown so he couldn't seperate the fire a second time. Them's the breaks when you put all your points in Strength.
But yeah, it's bad. When the selling point is your Vader vs Obi Wan showdown, you have to deliver.

The latter had a 10 minutes head start and they were both taking the only established route to the place.
By Laboured Go To PostS3 of The Boys is up. Nice little cameo at the start.
alhamdullilah brother
Homicide brought me into the David Simonverse long before the wire and I'm grateful for it too.
Gus Fring excellent in that one. Good look into American society for a 16 year old Swede at the time.

Watched first ep of the new season of The Boys last night and it was decent. Homelander is getting a bit boring.
The Termite scene was great though.

Ridley Scott’s “Raised by Wolves” has been canceled after two seasons at HBO Max, Variety has confirmed..
By s y Go To PostIt's lucky it got a 2nd seasonyep
By Laboured Go To PostTo be fair S2 felt like it was budget stripped and didn’t have the studio confidence behind it.all the budget went to the last two episodes lol

Lost interest in Raised By Wolves s2. No real surprise it's not getting a third season. First few eps of the second are extremely dull.
First 3 episodes of S3 of The Boys were good.
Jack Quaid's reaction to the arm breaking was hilarious.

The 12 Days of Christine epsisode of Inside Number 9 is required watching even if you don't like Pemberton and Shearsmith
Don't read anything about it. And yes, I know it's seven years old ¬¬

Love IN9 (although they haven’t made a banger episode for a while now; everything is still a good 7/8 out of 10 but it’s been two or three seasons since a great)
the depp v heard trial apparently led to youtube suggesting me videos from the o.j. trial, whch led me to watching f. lee bailey cross-examining mark fuhrman. it is incredible to see him slowly and surely break down fuhrman who ended up becoming the center point of the trial.
just one part of it. the entire trial is up as part of the playlist if you're interested.
this reminded me i'd never seen o.j. simpson: made in america outside of the first episode many years ago. it's up on disney + if you're in the uk/netherlands, and discovery if you're in the states.
phenomenal stuff. gives you a a fascinating insight into o.j. and, on a grander scale, america. one of the best things i've ever seen.
it is a documentary made for television, but i deem it cinema.

Lol Depp-Heard was OJ for white people huh

I like where this is going. Fun show and everything, but the whole plot is still less exciting than BB for me. I'm enjoying the Lalo stuff way more than any of Jimmy's procedurals stories, even though he's a bit of a Mexican James Bond rn.

Haven't watched the new Barry episode yet but God the last ep's chase scene really was that good. The bit where the guy on the bike is meant to catch the HMG had me in fucking tears.
The new episode is almost as good. Hader is really flexing.
There are a couple scenes that are great almost entirely because of directorial decisions.

By Cleff Go To PostStarted a rewatch of Justified.Such an underrated show. One of my GOATs.
Dewey Crowe is one of the great idiots of television.
