Star Wars ratio of good to bang average/shit across film and TV must be bizarre considering how big it is. Maybe even approaching Jurassic Park in that sense.
By Laboured Go To PostBarry is gud so far. Question: were the eps always this short?
Started watching it the other day, first few eps are like 30 mins

Huh, ok. So used to 40+ mins that 30 feels like a brisk clip. Gud imo.
star wars has 3.5 good movies and some decent cartoons and that's about it, the brand is bigger than any of the actual products
I haven't seen any Sunny lately or the podcast but Mac looks about 15 years younger than when I last saw him (blurry jpeg notwithstanding). I need to get on his regimen.
Look, it’s not that hard. All you need to do is lift weights six days a week, stop drinking alcohol, don’t eat anything after 7pm, don’t eat any carbs or sugar at all, in fact just don’t eat anything you like, get the personal trainer from Magic Mike, sleep nine hours a night, run three miles a day, and have a studio pay for the whole thing over a six to seven month span. I don’t know why everyone’s not doing this. It’s a super realistic lifestyle and an appropriate body image to compare oneself to.
A new series of “Black Mirror” is in the works at Netflix, Variety can reveal.I only saw Bandersnatch from the last season (which was alright), i heard the rest was shit
It’s been almost three years since Season 5 of the dystopian drama premiered on the streaming service in June 2019, but sources indicate that a new anthology series of “Black Mirror” is shaping up, and casting is now underway.
While details about specific stories are being kept under lock and key, Variety understands that Season 6 will have more episodes than Season 5, which comprised of just three instalments and starred Andrew Scott, Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace and Miley Cyrus.
A source close to the production tells Variety that the latest season is even more cinematic in scope, with each instalment being treated as an individual film. This is, of course, in line with recent seasons of “Black Mirror,” for which episodes usually exceeded 60 minutes and had incredibly high production values.
Strange New Worlds is still good btw
Dreading that Goldsman shoe drop. But it seems like they're just copying TOS, which, honestly? I'll take
I'm way too optimistic about these. I have a post in here loving the pilot of Picard and in retrospect that specific episode is very very bad

So this starts off very slow, I didn't quite understand it at first as there's a million things happening, but you can see the brilliance of The Wire here and there. It's slow, like a nice slow burn.
By midway episode two things are coming together, and the investment starts paying dividends. The way it's shot and written is all The Wire at this point, but adapted for 2022, though same feeling.
By episode 3 I'm all in, this is really, really good. It's not The Wire levels good (that is legendary) but it's very good nonetheless.

Edit: nope, remembered how much I hate the "looks at camera" shit in these mockumentary style shows.

Stranger Star Wars Things
Another new series on the horizon doesn’t even have a title, just a code name: Grammar Rodeo, a reference to an episode of The Simpsons in which Bart and his schoolmates steal a car and run away for a week, using a phony educational event as an alibi. The show takes place during the post–Return of the Jedi reconstruction that follows the fall of the Empire, the same as The Mandalorian, but its plot remains a secret. It’s created and executive-produced by director Jon Watts and writer Chris Ford, who made Spider-Man: Homecoming for Marvel. A casting notice has called for four children, around 11 to 12 years old. Inside Lucasfilm, the show is being described as a galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.What's next, Lucasfilm? Space Bridgerton?
Aren't they doing something in the Old Republic era? Can't remember if it's books or a cartoon or something but I imagine that's testing the waters for films/tv stuff.

Only thing that sounds even slightly interesting

Headland describes The Acolyte as a mystery thriller set in a prosperous and seemingly peaceful era, when the galaxy is still sleek and glistening. “We actually use the term the Renaissance, or the Age of Enlightenment,” she says. Jedis were not always ascetic monklike figures living selflessly and bravely. “The Jedi uniforms are gold and white, and it’s almost like they would never get dirty. They would never be out and about,” Headland says. “The idea is that they could have these types of uniforms because that’s how little they’re getting into skirmishes.”

The third iteration of the XFL has found a TV home.
The league and Disney have struck a global rights deal that will see all XFL regular season and playoff games running on ESPN, ABC and — in its first sports rights deal since becoming part of Disney — FX. The spring football league is set to begin play in 2023.
Dany Garcia and Dwayne Johnson, who are part of the league’s ownership group along with Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital, announced the deal Tuesday during Disney’s upfront presentation.
