man i had no idea they still make Roseanne w/o Roseanne. The Connors
caught a commercial during Abbott Elementary and everyone looks like absolute ghouls

Finished the expanse. I have many thought and almost all of them negative. Really disappointed with the way they tied this series up. The opening sequence of each episode was a complete waste. Character development that wasn’t needed at times. Like why tell me she’s gonna die in 5 years when the story is only gonna progress like a month lol
And whoever thought of that cheeky fuckin comment about being happy with where they were after james acknowledged all of these unfinished story arcs can go fuck off omg

this is us is absoutely cheesy af and I hate watching it but I need to see where it ends up lmao. The future scenes are way more interesting than what's happening in the present tbh
i've only seen promos of the show and everyone is always crying and hugging each other. i have no clue what it's about.

Also, I am hate watching Peacemaker. The characters are unlikable, the writing is dogshit and they swear in places that doesn't make sense just to be edgy. The acting is wooden across the board.
The fight scenes were quite good so far (Ep 2) and I wanna see where this go.

By DiPro Go To Posti've only seen promos of the show and everyone is always crying and hugging each other. i have no clue what it's about.Imagine if a group of soap opera writers were gathered together to write a prestige, character-driven melodrama covering several generations of an American family. Mostly they do a good job, but every so often they relapse and can't help themselves but write in crazy plot twists where a long lost relative was alive all along!!
In order to manage their cravings, they often write in fake plot twists where at the end it just turns out to have been two different timelines or something really simple.
It's pretty weird at times but the cast is good enough to carry it through
By DiPro Go To Posti'm not sure if this sounds appealing or not.The first season is very well done, the best of the lot. But then it hooks you with its soap opera mysteries, and 5 seasons later you're Freewheelin, wondering why you are still watching but unable to turn away.
Yeah I just like the chemistry between the cast, it's what's got me through 5 seasons of it even though the writing throughout hasn't been very good.

i'm not sure i trust Freewheelin, i saw some things today.
Reached the end of S5 of The X-Files. How fucking crazy it is they made a big budget movie to bridge season 5 and 6? I remember watching it on cinemas and it was just incredible to see the show I loved watching every week on the big screen and looking better than ever.
By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostYellowstone any good?Proper good show, my parents love it.

Like why tell me she’s gonna die in 5 years when the story is only gonna progress like a month lolI know what you mean. It really felt like it ran out of everything, budget, steam, story and yet there was so much left to explore. Camina is the best girl, so at least the focus on the final stretch of her arc carried the season for me.

Archive 81 was kinda decent, but also derivative, like 4 episodes too long and ultimately a waste of time.

Like I feel completely short changed. Almost like I wasted time watching previous seasons. That’s how much I disliked this season

Was very exciting at the beginning and I was getting Empty Man vibes about it, but it starts dragging a lot and all the tension and mystery is lost on the way.

I watched the show and then discovered it was based off a podcast so I listened to that. Netflix really gutted the main story and changed so much stuff. The content and tone of the podcast is far different, and far weirder than the TV show. Really enjoyed it.
By s y Go To PostDamn I heard the expanse finale was GoT tier but 8 didn't wanna believe it
It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t ending. Its terrible for a series end though. Honestly felt like 3/4 of the season was shot assuming another was coming or there was gonna be 12 episodes this season that got cut to 6 abruptly
if the biggest complaints center around it ending while there's more left on the table and not shitting all over seasons of material in just a few hours, then like..... that's good a problem to have lol
there's a massive time skip at that point in the story and leaving the door open to revisit that universe with more traction than battlestar gallactica x caprica isn't something im upset with
for what they had to work, they knocked it out of the damn park imo

It’s not just old hanging arcs. They started new ones!
Seriously they wasted 5 minutes of each episode on the colony beyond the gate. Give me zombie protomolicule child and drop it lol. That a half an episode of content. They shoulda cut the season in half and tacked everything onto last season of this is how they were going to handle this

that kid basically marks the finished version of what the protomolecule was trying to accomplish in season 2 and 3. don't get me wrong, they could've highlighted duarte over that family in particular and it would've carried more weight imo as laconia/nu mars is a major element.
what they got right in 6 episodes is waaaaaaaay better than what they didn't tho. and they wrapped up way more than they left open too (earth in its entirety, mars taking more Ls than they can hold, anarchy, etc). if a series ends and you want more i kinda feel its better than a series ending and you feel nothing or you wonder why the producers spit in your mouth
Exactly DY they don't know how well the ending did everything justice.
By DY_nasty Go To Postpfft i loved itGlad I wasn't alone. Great ending.
By Lunatic Go To PostExactly DY they don't know how well the ending did everything justice.when the whole nagata family bullshit started up years ago i never imagined i'd have a single fuck to give about any of it. and now i feel like that thread had some of the best moments of the back half of the series.
also holden being boiled down to an immortal chaotic good lucky jackass is probably done better than in the books too lol
doesnt need to be said either anymore but expanse owns like the entire top 5 of best space battles put on a screen (not counting that chair drop lmao but every series gets one and they wanted to try something new)

Not if you’re going to just abruptly drop the story arc anyway. Put more time into actually selling Philip finally realizing who his father is. Give me more drumma.
If they actually do another season, I will feel differently
"how would you think my father would feel if i just shot you in the face right now?"
"idk ;_;"
fuckin loved every bit of marco/filip. that brief of episode and a half of filip embracing leadership and realizing in an instant that his dad was a bottomless well of shit was a1
i love legend of galactic heroes, but what they did was dope because of its scale and how decisions/strategy centered around that more than anything else. there's not a lot hunt for red october/master and commander stuff in anime. a lot of space battles turn into laser shows, toy commercials, one man army scenes, etc.

By Lunatic Go To PostObviously psy as his all time best is probably LotGHi think crest of the stars did space battles better than logh.

I don’t know if I’ve ever sat and thought about my favorite sci fi space battles? I mean not like in list form. Hmmm 🤔
By DY_nasty Go To Posti think crest of the stars did space battles better than logh.Well I only got into LotGH from Die Neue These which is fucking fire. I get that it's more of a space drama along with macro strats than purely sci-fi action shit. So I agree with your point that the space battles aren't that hype from a micro level view.

Wrath of khan is a measuring stick in general lol.
The more I think about it the more difficulty I have thinking about it. Lol
Trek space battles feel kinda like submarine battle to some extent. They’re some of my favorite, but they’re different than something like a starwars battle that has smaller ships. Nostalgia is an issue for me here. Millennium Falcon just reminds me of being a kid.
Do you count invasion battle as space battles?

my whole thing about space battles is how whatever medium is taking advantage of all the different factors in play. like starship troopers is a meme movie, but that landing scene (despite it being one of the dumbest approaches everrrrrrr) is still really fucking good.
hell star trek discovery had some great stuff too - which makes their god awful ending of s2 even more jarring.
I will never see space battles as good as the Expanse again. No more high G burns, no more flip and burns, no more rail guns and no more pdcs blazing with long trail arms 😑

It's Wilt Chamberlain, nobody coming close to the records and the stats just look silly.
The Responder is fantastic.
Freeman's accent could be better but its good to see a TV show based in Liverpool with scouse actors.
