Caught up with Yellowjackets. Decent show, would recommend if you're nostalgic for something a little Lost-y. Plane with high school students goes down in the middle of nowhere and ... stuff starts happening. The show juggles between the past timeline, when the accident happened, and the present, 20 something years later. They did a great job casting the younger versions of the girls, Christina Ricci's teenage counterpart especially.
not even on any of the streaming sites.
this is not 2005 anymore. i've become too lazy to download entire seasons.

I also watched the first episode of Station Eleven. It was alright, but I don't know if I'm gonna continue.
It's basically The Last Of Us and I think I'd rather give that a shot, eventually.

Was fucking great.
I just want a show following Drummer.
Watching Daredevil now. On season 3.
I can understand why Disney canceled the show after acquiring Marvel, et al. It's basically not 'Disney' friendly. Gory as fuck, tons of violence, swearing, etc. But damn, it IS a damn good show. I am glad that between Hawkeye and Spider-Man, the show's not gone to waste and it seems like its characters and such will be brought back in some form.

But again I don't have the same taste as all of you (I don't like succession, the expanse, etc) so take it as you may
By AlphaSnacks Go To PostWatching Daredevil now. On season 3.It's obvious they will water it down, make it goofy and as generic as anything they produce...

Hawkeye series played in the same "universe" and the way they handled the antagonists and fighting scenes in that show pretty much tells you how they envision any MCU thing
Disney bought marvel long before those Netflix shows came out. I just don't think they gave a shit about TV before they had their own streaming service.
They were also cancelled by Netflix, not Disney, because Netflix only cares about new subs and those shows ran their course

Started watching Morning Show, three episodes down and, everybody is piece of shit I don’t know what’s the end goal here.
Two episodes into Station Eleven, this is not good so far. Very generic with some questionable plot holes, hasn't brought any new ideas either.
By AlphaSnacks Go To PostWatching Daredevil now. On season 3.I'm making my way through a rewatch of the show. Just gotten to ep 10 of S2. The Punisher focused episodes were fantastic, but the show took a nosedive in quality when it started focusing on Elektra and the mythology of the Chaste Vs The Hand. The show is much better when it stays away from the mystic elements of its canon.

The Iron Fist had the same problems. Netflix always struggled with the fantastical elements. It's why Daredevil S1&3 and Jessica Jones S1 are by far the best things theyve produced. It's hard to stay grounded with a superhero show, but when they focused on the grittier, human elements it was so much better.
All those Marvel Netflix shows have way too many episodes. I enjoyed daredevil but it ran out of steam halfway through season 2
By s y Go To PostAll those Marvel Netflix shows have way too many episodes. I enjoyed daredevil but it ran out of steam halfway through season 2One of the things reasons that was being thrown around for the cancellation of Marvel's Netflix shows was the fact that Netflix wanted to reduce the number of episodes to lower cost but Disney won't allow it because they would get paid less.

The only thing I know about Watergate is that it played large part in ending Nixon's presidency. I have 0 idea what it actually entailed.

Netflix probably didn't want to deal with the eventual hassle of having to go back and forth with Disney. They had temporary rights to The Punisher and DD, which expired in 2020, but the writing was on the wall with all of Disney's acquisitions and platform launch. Seems like they cut their losses early.

I really hope they don't make it too campy or goofy. I think the expectations have already been set, so I'm sure they'll try to keep it similar in tone. Highly doubt the violence remains, though.

By s y Go To PostFirst episode of firefly was one of the worst episodes of television I've ever watched.Once again proving that if sy doesn't like it, that thing must be really good.
Curious if by first episode you mean the first episode that aired or the first episode that was supposed to air but Fox aired it as the second.
Extremely disappointed by the ending of Sopranos, bit of writing cowardice if I may say so as they didnt have the guts to commit. Series never shied away from it, and somehow at the end it shows an unwarranted level of compassion for a piece of garbage human being. It only hints at an outcome, and barely. Not saying it had to go all the way, but Christ it barely dipped its toes in the water.
Not cool.

Cowardice would have been something like Breaking Bad, where a bad dude gets to go out in a blaze of glory. The Sopranos adhering to its message of ‘the world is fucked and you don’t always get what you want but this dude is either dead or perpetually living the rest of his life with one eye open and that’s a really shitty fucking existence to live’. On top of the indictments, on top of the people in his crew getting clipped…
My girlfriend just watched them for the first time and initially she was underwhelmed, and then I asked her a week later what she thought and she said it was the perfect ending for that show. Nothing else would have made sense. I agree. It is 100% in keeping with the show’s worldview, its morals, its characters and its storytelling.
A great ending and one of the most iconic of all time. Still think Six Feet Under got it beaten, but fuck me, it feels kind of like the perfect way to end the show. If anything just cutting to black, was a ballsy move. Also love that people still argue to this day if it really happened right there (it did, stop saying it didnt) and who/why

Even if it didn’t happen, the whole point is that it will one day, right? The way Tony keeps looking towards the restaurant door, that’s how he is going to live the rest of his life, until the day some anonymous random hired gun, like Members Only dude, blows his brains out over his dinner one day. What a shitty life to lead. What an incredible ending. What a fucking show.
Yeah. But I mean, it certainly did happen right there. But yeah, that is kind of the point. Will always live like that now. It's hinted to through the whole show that it will only end up two ways for a guy like him, he even straight up says 'in prison or in a casket' to melfi. Even if he doesn't get killed right there, Carlo is testifying too….
There is no debate to have. It happened right there.
And it’s the greatest ending to a show of all time. Accept no substitutes.
