By diehard Go To Postjust for people that missed it a few years ago, "detectorists" is a delightful little show.
Yes, really lovely. Just very warm, gorgeous performances. Toby Jones is one of our very best.
Arcane is one of the most pleasant surprises of the year for me. Wasn't expecting the show to be any good. Glad we've got confirmation of a second season.
Scott’s next film is “Kitbag,” a biopic of Napoleon Bonaparte, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the French emperor and Jodie Comer as Marie Antoinette. The director confirmed that production will begin on Jan. 15.Interesting
By Freewheelin Go To PostAre there any original ideas left in tv/filmIt's why I still Stan for Nolan.
- Foundation finale was pretty good.
- wheel of time on Amazon enjoyable through 2 episodes.

By Daz Go To PostIt's why I still Stan for Nolan. You stan a dude that keeps making movies around the concept of time?
Memento: time
Insomnia: time
Inception: time
Interstellar: time
Dunkirk: time (as an editing trick)
Tenet: time
Memento: memory
Insomnia: Is that the one with Al Pacino? I don't remember what happens.
Inception: that's a reach...
Interstellar : OK, I'll give you that.
Dunkirk: you sort of walked it back yourself there.
Tenet: yes, timey whiney af.

'A 50-year-old caretaker is employed to look after 10-year-old girl. His most important task is to maintain her dentures that are made of ice and must be changed several times a day'
Enjoy
By n8 dogg Go To Postwhat lolSo?

Time is not the concept. The film uses reverse motion, a cinematography technique. Non linear narrative storytelling is not a concept.
I do think about time a lot when it comes to most Nolan movies. Mostly 'surely it has been 2 hours now? no, only 1?'

It's all time based, bruh, ALL of it
By FortuneFaded Go To PostLots of directors have similar themes to their work. For instance, Villeneuve has alienshow long have you waited to make this joke?
Batman Begins: features three interweaving timelines.
The Dark Knight: there are a gazillion time bombs.
The Dark Knight Rises: just a massive waste of time.

“We can firmly say that Wheel of Time was the most watched series premiere of the yearShocking. Havent heard a single person IRL talk about this show.
Amazon making a Mass Effect show it seems. Will be interesting to see whether that rumour Cavill will be in it comes true.
Foundation is SyFy network level boring. There is just nothing to care about outside of Lee Pace. Don't think I'll finish this. Shame.
The Dark One works in mysterious ways.
I went in expecting the worst, but I thought the first two episodes were decent enough. Rosamunda is carrying the show and so far I don't dislike any of the main cast, which is an achievement in itself.
Other than that ... everything feels a bit too made for TV. The Perrin change is a big one. I understand they don't have 10 books / seasons to get him to where he needs to be, but him accidentally killing his wife felt a bit too much. They made Mat's background darker too.
Could be molded in a solid adaptation, eventually, if Amazon cared past S2.

Watching Clarkson's Farm
He's surprisingly endearing when he's struggling, though there's always that understanding that it wouldn't really matter to him if it went tits up. His farm is in an absolutely beautiful location, will be a shame if the only glimpse we get of the woodland and streams on his land are the little clips in the introduction montage.
I'd fucking love to live in the sticks.

I'd kinda love it if Clarkson went more into how the farming equipment works mechanically.
The covid stuff legit gave me chills in terms of reminding me how quickly it went from being something that we could basically ignore, to the first lockdown.

Wheel of Time ep 4:
This one was actually good. They finally expanded on the world and the conflicts brewing. Also they finally got into what makes the Dragon so important. The changes they made to the source material actually made sense and complemented the books. Like, it's still just a 6 or 7 out of 10 episode, but it's a marked improvement over what came before. Ep 4 gives me a bit of hope for the series going forward. More of this please.
