ah okay. yeah S4 is a big downshift from S3 at first. things reset a bit, but its worth considering all that's being set up.

S4 was really quite a shift, but yeah it's mostly a big setup and not really something that will get repeated later on.
First season where the books were massively better tbh, but I can't blame them for that. CGI would have been expensive as fuck for a lot of things.

4 had its issues but considering what they had to cover im okay with how it was done. the back half makes up for it.
its also the season where character flaws really get highlighted. holden is a selfish, shortsighted, dumbass and everyone just kinda is like "yeah ok whatever" with his shit as opposed to sucking him off or happily riding along

Ymmv, but the first two seasons are my least favorite. All set up. Season 3 is the goat. Season 4 was good and season 5 great
