Season 2 of Ted Lasso feels way more corny than Season 1
It's good in spots, but feels a little less charming due to the overuse of the "charm"

Roy Kent is hilarious … I’ve enjoyed it as much as season one and am shocked to say that. I expected a massive drop off.
I know it’s a musical, but schmigadoon is really good lol. If you’ve ever seen the music man, even better

Apple's original series output has been surprisingly really good -- I think overall better than what Netflix ever offered sans a show like Mindhunter (which they quickly canceled because it didn't bring in enough subscribers).
I’ve been using AppleTV+ more than Netflix over here last year and a half. I think their original content is way better than Netflix’s recently.
netflix has a lot of good original content that isn't scripted tv shows tho.
apple has one good and like two decent shows so far. very high hopes for Foundation.

Bojack Horseman is the best show Netflix have done. OITNB was promising for a while, and American Vandal (especially season one) was great.
To me Netflix is like McDonald’s where there’s a lot of things and a few good things, but you usually know what you’re getting yourself into.
AppleTV+/HBO is like going to a nice restaurant where there’s a lot of nice things and a couple of meh things.

By JesalR Go To PostSeason 2 of Ted Lasso feels way more corny than Season 1I think it's super weird how the team is awful and there's been not a hint of it in the narrative. There's no concern or pressure to do better and get back to the Premier League, like they said they wanted to do at the end of the first season.

By DiPro Go To Postrodeo with the spoiler. Can you even spoil that show? There's not much overarching plot at the moment.
Can't rewatch that show. Too many delicious looking meats and cold cuts I will never get to taste. Why can't there be a halal Gabagool?
By n8 dogg Go To PostDon’t remember much of season 4. Is it the one with Buscemi? I remember a lot of focus on Carmela.
no buscemi yet; think that’s s5.
he did direct “pine barrens” in s3, though.
Damn that's a top 5 episode. Has Buscemi ever directed more stuff?
EDIT: looking up the answer to this question I learned his wife died of a rare disease in 2019. rip :(

Netflix isn't about chasing quality anymore it's about content to get subscribers. With all of the influx of awful reality tv they are producing they are basically chasing the CBS model of the 2000s. I'm confident they will have a multi camera live audience comedy starring a fat white guy named Kevin any day now.
Netflix doesn’t need to worry about quality, people will watch whatever
Being first major streaming service people just stick with it. Quality doesn’t really matter as much anymore considering people don’t really pay attention to the shit they watch and are just texting/social media so as long as you always have something new that’s enough
There’s like 3 original shows and 2 original movies every week, not including whatever non-originals show up.

yeah there's tons and tons of trash on Netflix but it's not like I'm watching it and things like Mind hunter, American Vandal, Irishman,LDR, I'm thinking of Ending Things, Bojack etc are all great so it's not like they've stopped putting out quality content or are releasing less good stuff(I'm thinking of Ending Things, LDR, Irishman are all recent)
The trashier stuff is easier and quicker to produce so I'm not really surprised that they're putting out so much of it.
The quality of content across every streaming service is mediocre at best when everything is taken into consideration.
If we judged them by their peak? Netflix is only behind HBO in my eyes.

By reilo Go To PostYou've listed several shows and movies that either aired years ago or were cancelled earlyI'm thinking of Ending Things was September 2020, LDR vol 2 was this year, Irishman was a couple years ago.
Personally I don't care about the cancellations, Mind hunter and american vandal didn't end on cliff hangers. Their seasons were great and for the most part, self contained.
Would i have liked more? Sure but I can't complain at what was provided.
Edit: Ozark is still ongoing as well.
By Fenderputty Go To PostApple+ content is not mediocre lol 😂It’s all really high quality from what I’ve seen tbh. Quality over quantity so far on there.

Hyped for Foundation. Looks like it will the first show worth paying for on apple. Glad Sony is giving out free 6 month trials on ps5.

I was going to say they hew pretty damn close to the novels outside of actors in starring roles getting fired for sexual assault
Nah. They're kinda on par with the story overall but they've done some wild shit with some characters and combined others. Drummer may as well be half a dozen people. The Mao family stuff shrunk dramatically. Errinwright? lol. Certain characters and factions get their shine but its pretty well streamlined and trimmed down.
Hmm. Yeah I haven't read them (and I try to avoid spoilers for the coming season and beyond) but I read that people are happy with how close an adaptation it is all things considered
