Wife watching Sex and the City from the beginning and I’m here wondering how the hell did this unfunny, white people only, ridiculously written trash hit the big time as much as it did.

Sex and the City gave women everywhere the experience of being a single, independent, successful woman living in the best city in the world and having their pick of non-commital relationships with men from all walks of life until they were able to find their prince charming.
Sex and the City first aired almost a quarter of a century ago.
It was a big deal for its time. There weren't many high budget female led dramas around at the time that focused on female empowerment, health issues, casual sex and relationships etc

Doesn’t feel like female empowerment when it’s all about men, men, men, made even worse by the introduction of the Cinderella dream in the first episode. Like geez, at least let me wonder about what the perfect man is, don’t tell me straight away that is the same as before.
I mean, that was the 90s dream for a lot of women. Having careers, owning their shit and sleeping around (by choice and not being shamed for it) and not being a homemaker with 3 kids by age 24.
Guess you’re right, I just had it in my mind that it was supposed to be funny, or at least a lot funnier.
I've watched Sex And The City fully at least twice and it has great moments.
It truly broke some barriers at the time.
I have seen some Marvel, DC and Fast And Furious movies on opening day or around that but I have never seen such a big crowd reaction in a movie theater as the opening day of the first Sex And The City movie.
That shit was crazy, there was only 4 or 5 men on that showing but the reaction to Samantha's boyfriend full frontal nude scene doesn't compare to anything, not even Captain America's Avengers Assemble on Endgame.

I don't know where else to post this...but the RDC crew (the same guys who went extremely viral after LeBron got eliminated from the playoffs this year) just posted something that I could literally see Dave Chappelle sketching 15 years back on Comedy Central. Had me in stitches.
I had forgotten that S3 of Titans starts this week. Reviews of the first 5 episodes are good, they all said that it's a step up from previous seasons6
By data Go To PostI miss Monday nightsI remember watching WCW with my brothers and my dad.
He was such a DDP mark that he tried to get the same hairstyle at one point.
But the hairdresser kinda fucked up and he got a white/blond perm.
been watching For All Mankind, this show's dope. just finished ep 5 and the build up of tension is so good. the show is so much better when focusing on characters and space stuff rather than the political twists, was actually close to dropping the show after ep 1. glad i stuck with it.
What do you lot use to see what streaming service things are available on?
Looking for a site that especially separates things that are free on Prime, and things that have a rental fee on there.

lmao at this thread. Incredible amout of guest stars/actors.
yeah I started watching Miami Vice recently and I didn't expect it to have the guest stars it did. there's a lot more listed in the replies to the thread. I didn't even recognize some of them when I watched it.
what a scene.
By Not Go To PostAfter that I wasn't sure which characters would be the main ones lolThe boring white guy will always be a safe bet.
I like Holden, especially in season 2 on. He's a lovable grouch who only kind of wants to save the day because no one else will
By Lupercal Go To PostStar Trek TNG or Miami Vice for best guest stars?TNG has Dr. Kelso and Jean Grey, so I guess Miami Vice

Trevor Moore, a comedian who was a founder of the popular sketch comedy show “The Whitest Kids U’ Know,” died on Saturday in Los Angeles. He was 41.damn, RIP
His death was confirmed by the Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner, who said that Mr. Moore had died in a yard on a residential block in the Franklin Hills section of the city, the same block where public records showed he had lived.
