It’s more obviously different than that - there’s no punching, explosions, etc - but it’s... not very good. Is it trying to be corny and cheesy and dated on purpose? You betcha. Does that mean it is actually of high quality? No, no it doesn’t.
Gotta side with n8 on this one. Not impressed after two episodes, really hope there's a lot more to it. It's not the worst thing ever tho.

Thought the chemistry between vision and wanda was enough to make some of the quips come off quite well. It's no Chapelle for sure but I really enjoyed it.

This season of the expanse is so so good but .... BUT
Amos’s arc is a total waste of time so far (were kinda far in lol) and is only saved because Amos is awesome. Everything else has been great though. Naomi and the free army arcs have been rad.
I’m surprised I’m enjoying this season so much honestly. A gate to other places has opened and there’s a super civilization that killed the creators of the proto molecule and Last season ended in some trippy symbolic shit and there’s been none of that. Ohh and the crew is all split up lol

I like that they're able to carry multiple plot lines per episode that still develop characters despite short seasons. Discovery this is not. 3 seasons in and all you know about the bridge crew is that they love looking at each other during cuts when something basic happens.
Meanwhile you got amos holding his dick 9 inches from his body 2 minutes into this episode and naomi going through hell and misery only to pursue every limited option she has. Probably my favourite episode this season. Just pure grind.

That’s what’s odd, I feel like this describes the expanse too. The show can do more but stays local and focuses on human interactions. It just does it 100x better than discovery.
Caught up on Servant, really enjoying it. I like the format of episodes coming out weekly versus all at once on streaming services too.
