By sy Go To Postfirst one good? on huluThe 1988 run? I don't know how well it aged, when I saw it as a kid it was good. The new one has a lot of talent behind it so hoping that it gets some traction.
Every CW show gets a high budget first season to draw people in, the drops some absolute trash seasons after.
Caught a clip of Supergirl, fuck me it’s 2005 levels of bad CG

It also costs more and more to keep the actors on the payroll as they keep the seasons going. They are easily the most expensive bit.
I'm still disappointed how progressively terrible the Supernatural cinematography got after Season 5. It lost almost all of its atmosphere/mood setting.

By LFMartins86 Go To PostDropped Flash a while ago. Superman & Lois is so much better than the previous CW shows.Kung Fu is great too.
Thank god I haven't watched any of their other superhero shows, sounds like a bait to me
I really enjoyed CWverse at first, but when they added the time travelling team I was out. Didn’t want to watch it and didn’t like you had to watch episodes to know what was happening.
I remember I once watched two seasons of The Arrow due to the recommendations of terrorist Yurt and I still haven't recovered.
From the still frame, I thought the first tweet was gonna be costumes on the dance floor or something.
It got so much worse.

Omni-Man is different though. He eventually becomes the Jaime Lannister of comics
I imagine he'll be the most popular character by season 3. If he's not already

By LFMartins86 Go To PostVideo Unavailable sure sounds like an interesting premise. It's Star Trek Prodigy lol. The cg kids show they made
Star Trek: Prodigy will follow a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search for a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered–a first in the history of the Star Trek franchise–but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.

You know what is the GOAT show?
The Americans
I still miss it, no show have come close to it in terms of tension, atmosphere, character, wigs, etc

By inky Go To PostThis shit is fucking clone wars, not Star TrekI'm gonna give it a shot because I like the idea of a starfleet ship filling the "all-powerful alien artifact" trope. Cool reversal.
Never seen clone wars or rebels or resistance or bad bunch or whatever the hell else they keep cranking out

By data Go To Postyou say that like there's a bunch of lookers on The Wire
For years I was completely convinced that The Wire was the best show I'd ever seen. But I'm starting to lean towards The Sopranos now.
I love The Wire, and I appreciate that the show was always about how the institutions of the police and the judiciary were ultimately fighting a losing battle against the drug trade. The inner workings of the drug gangs and the day to day grind was great to watch as well.
But I think there was always a bit of distance between the main characters and the audience. We saw a bit about their personal lives, but mostly it was about the cycle of the drug trade. I sometimes struggled a bit to empathise with them.
With the Sopranos we got to know Tony and his family intimately. His troubles at home with his wife and kids, his awful mother and extended family and the extremely complex relationship with his uncle who he revered but at the same time wanted to utterly crush in the race for leadership of the 'other family'. The fact that the writers and Gandolfini got you to empathise with an utter monster of a man like Tony Soprano is the shows greatest strength. Tony is a sociopath and a murderer and overall an awful human being. But you always wanted to see him succeed despite feeling revulsion towards his actions.
Plus we got all the machinations of the Mafia and the relationship between New Jersey and New York. It was the extra level of intimacy in Sopranos which makes it the better show for me. Also, it helps that Sopranos was utterly hilarious as well. Never watched a show that could be so utterly serious and then so funny in the very next scene.
The Sopranos and The Wire are no 1&2 for best shows ever imo.

On the subject of The Sopranos and also series finales, I know it gets said a lot but the final season of Game of Thrones is potentially the single greatest fuck up in recent TV history. It was such an anti-climax and so insulting to fans intelligence that nobody talks about the show anymore. The Jaime/Cersei finale especially was a massive fuck you to the fanbase.
With the Sopranos people quote the show regularly and post scenes and gifs on Twitter. I see nothing like that for GoT.

Either way, it shouldn't be suprising. They lost more and more traction after season 3 and HBO should have pulled the plug and put it on pause after S6 or even earlier. Still can't believe they saw it and said "okay, let's roll with it".
On the topic of The Wire vs. Sopranos. I also lean more towards Sopranos, but you can't deny the greatness of the Wire of connecting all those different pieces of several seasons together in the end.
By Daz Go To PostIs the Nevers getting a second season?Part 2 of season 1 is expected to be released next year.
They stopped filming due to Covid and Whedon leaving but they should be restarting filming sometime this year.

By LFMartins86 Go To PostNo, he left/was fired before the show aired.I decided to start watching when I learned he left.
He's still credited with the creation - I hope they bring in David Fury - he did a lot of Heavy lifting on Angel which was superior to Buffy in the later seasons.
