Starting season 5 of the Wire. Depending on how this season goes, this might end up my favorite show of all time.
Season 4 was probably also the best season because there wasn’t much McNutty or Kima, but I’m sure they both go back to bad habits in the final season.
Also started Black Mirror with the wife. First two episodes I enjoyed. Pig one was kinda boring, got halfway through the Jon Hamm ep but it’s also kinda boring. Is it all downhill after those first two episodes?

I didn't love Black Mirror that much. I also felt it was a bit boring for my tastes. It's a really well executed cool concept show, but it's also quite bleak most of the time and since it's an anthology there's really no character or storyline pulling me back in. A lot of people like it though, and I can see why.

The Acolyte episode 7. I truly don't understand how some of the this shit gets past an entire writing room. The padawan's motivation for fucking things up was … because he was home sick?!?! He simply had to go back to Coruscant? Does he have a dying mother back there? A booming import/export business that needs tending to? Hello writers? As stupid a reason as it is, at least wrap it up in something.
This show's only saving grace are the fighting scenes and a cool villain. Everything else has been bad and getting badder.

Doesn’t help that Sol is one of the least interesting main characters of all time.

I can a lot of positive stuff about these season of The Boys. My problem is that with the new release schedule Amazon decided upon I have stayed up to watch the episode go live at midnight Pacific from episode 4 to now. I should be asleep, but there I am watching The Boys until 1AM or 1:05AM and have been awake all the way through. Instead of thinking to say something here or Threads (lol) I go to sleep and then go work. If I get around to saying something cool I guess. And because I know the title of the season finale (damn you Eric Kripke) I've also been staying away from engaging with too much content regarding the show. By this time next week the barriers will be down.

I don't know man. I was never big into SW, but it's scifi/fantasy, so I want to like it, I really do. They seem hell-bent on not making it easy for me.

Yea season 4 plot is going nowhere. I get the slow roll fascism and cabal thing but Homelander hasn't done anything all season.
I think the Acolyte is okay, entertaining enough, but when will Disney or these companies in general learn that you can just have a show about a villain and nothing else. Like if the show were strictly about the dude with the helmet it would be more interesting, I don't need to learn about why the jedi do things or how they work, we already know that. He's by far the most interesting character on the show and the actor killed it in the short time he's been on which is like 15 minutes total. You would have thought these companies would have learned from Joker that people are fine with seeing the bad guys story.
I gave Presumed Innocent a try last night. Decent first episode but my only complaint is the cinematography is pretty ass and it's kinda hard to look at. The entire show looks hyper washed out. Everything looks flat and gray.

Have two episodes of The Sopranos left to watch. I forgot how unsatisfying the Melfi stuff ended up being and how much AJ they really pour on down the stretch here. It's still very, very good but they were really running on fumes wrapping up some of this stuff in both parts of season six.

I'm enjoying S4 tbh. Not the best but very enjoyable. I thought S3 was the perfect wrap to the series but I don't mind stretching it a bit to have some fun.

It just feels like a teen-oriented show where everything is very on the nose and there's absolute no depth or subtext in the plot. MCU-level of content. A shame. Thank God we got Andor.
