By Kidjr Go To PostPsy have you rewatched Mr Robot since first watch, how does it hold up on the second watch?great show
Just finished the first two episodes.
Really enjoyed it.
Some of the acting was a bit poor, but otherwise solid for me.

By Laboured Go To PostIt really does seem like it's nearly everything I would actively not want from a Star Wars show. Not even if you knew it had a $180m budget?
they wanna split Pt. 2 into 3 seasons? This shit is gonna drag worse than the game itself, which already was a fucking slog with all the seattle back and forth.
Can easily stretch it over two seasons but if they are thinking three then I expect them to expand more than usual which makes sense, there’s a lot that can be done with the characters.
Thing I'm most interested in is how they handle the perspective switches and how different it is from the game. No idea if it'll be a season of Ellie then a season of Abby, switching between them episode by episode, or scene by scene.
Game could definitely have been tightened up a fair bit imo, there are a few too many long detours and one or two too many aquarium parts

By Lupercal Go To PostFirst episode of The Acolyte is a bit shit but that's unsurprising.
I’m watching it with my kids so I’m having fun with the first two but …
“That’s a convenient trajectory through an atmosphere for a crash landing”
“Why can’t the Jedi tell if she’s being honest or not”
“They just had a scene starting the eyes can deceive and we know Jedi can anticipate without seeing, so why is this dust cloud bothering them”
Special effects are good, fighting is cool, it’s not taking place on a desert rock and the plot taking place 200 years before the stuff were all saturated with is also good.

I’m guessing they will warm us up to Abby without revealing much of who she is and we will get to know more about wlf and the seraphites before we get to the thing/reveal.
By Lupercal Go To Post"why do all these Jedi Masters want to show off their Kung Fu skills?"
Yeah … lol … it’s odd when this predates stuff by 200 years. I still think it’s cool though 😂
I was't expecting a new Andor but so far it's not the worst Star Wars show.
I'll watch the next ones next week.

It’s for kids age 6 to 12 and I guess that’s what Star Wars is. Still it’s a shame a show like Acolyte can’t at least represent the Jedis the way George did in the movies at least, these characters walk and talk like people off the streets in 2024.
Eh, I'm fine with that. Jedi's talked like robots in the prequels, they talk like better robots now.
It's just so lazy, lazy writing all the time.
I don't need exposition upon exposition upon exposition and the amount of "coincidences or lucky breaks" that happen to keep the plot going is embarrassing at times.

Prequels were horrible.
I like some of ideas that they seem to be doing in Acolyte
I have to admit Trinity was a nice touch tho for episode 1

When has this never been the case? Adults that like the OG ones just let their inner child out more I think.i genuinely mean that. It’s not like the dialog on the OG ones was great.
I really think a lot of the reasons people dislike the newer stuff is we’ve all become old jaded critics. Outside of Andor, I watch these with my kids and it’s a much better experience
That’s said I didn’t like the last 1.5 movies heh. Everything post force space walk was bad
That’s why I said it, not that it should excuse terrible ideas and execution, but I always thought Star Wars had its own identity and usually the cast was charismatic which helped. Acolyte to me is just stupid, with almost zero charisma on screen, and it doesn’t even feel like legit Star Wars with all the wire kung fu and Jedis that don’t even act like Jedis.
Plenty of shows, books, comic books, movies, manga, etc. targeted at children that are well written. We don't need to do this lol.
Boba was worse IMO. Obi was also violent enough I avoided watching it with my kids so I didn’t get their enjoyment to live vicariously through.
I didn't watch Boba because it looked like hot garbage, but I did watch like the first 20 minutes of Obi Wan... as soon as I saw kid Leia running around being a sassy kid I just... I couldn't do it.
I watched that new show on Netflix Bodkin.
Pretty good stuff, Will Forte is great in it.
All fun side characters and a decent mystery story.
4/5 Guinnesses

Disney?
Coincides with the early renewal from Amazon for season 5. I'm happy that he can end it where he wants to.
By Laboured Go To PostI will be there. No matter what?
