With marketing seemingly ramping up*, I just finished season 2 of The Bear 15 minutes ago. Episode 10 caps of the season with another masterclass in visual and auditory editing. I am beyond impressed by every facet of this show. I have sympathy of all of these people. What a disruptive thing to put yourself through, ie working in a kitchen or being a chef in a high stake restaurant with this collection of personalities. At the end of the season I want to grab Carmy/Carmen and slap some sense into him. He's frustrating, but incredibly watchable. You deserve good things, man!
An aside, all of the insert shots of Chicago they started doing remind me of the promo stuff that FX did for Damages way back when. I wonder if they same second unit people were involved.
*The debut of the season 3 teaser is what finally provoked me to start this show - and all the praise it had been getting. And finishing season 2 just now funnily coincides with the release of the full(?) trailer for season 3 today...which I won't be watching either.

Tell me how you felt by the end of Forks. Like you could take on the fucking world?
Makes you feel that any and everything is possible
By Laboured Go To PostNot going to be cheap. (Not a movie despite being on Apple TV - ridiculous!).Most expensive Nespresso ad.
I love Community, seen the first seasons multiple times but somehow never seen the season 6 fully.
I actually really enjoyed season 6, the vibe was a bit off but it also gave some of the biggest laughs the show ever gave me.
The finale though was almost perfect. The setup was so good.
Hopefully this is the year they finally do the movie.

By reilo Go To PostWas S1 good? I loved the book.Yes, favorite season of TV that Apple has done so far.
Did people enjoy, The Curse? Two episodes in and it's very slow and I'm finding it difficult to take Nathan Fielder serious as an actual actor.
By reilo Go To PostWhat else have you seen on Apple TV?Silo, Shrinking, Severance, Mythic Quest, For All Mankind (Have yet to see S4), Ted Lasso (Dropped after 2-3 S2 episodes), Slow Horses, Masters of the Air, Sugar.
I think only Severance is at Pachinko's level.

I'm up to episode 8 of The Curse and I'm enjoying it now. I think it picks up around episode 4. I really like how it's shot. Lots of telephoto shots through windows and long takes add to some of the intentional awkwardness they're obviously going for. Nathan Fielder knows what he's doing in TV.
I finished all of newhart. Pretty impressive how they turned from 70s sitcom to 80s sitcom to 90s sitcom across the span of the series
Good show but boomers losing their shit over Larry Darryl and Darryl is some bazinga tier shit

By Laboured Go To PostThinking of watching Gomorrah. Generally recommended?Have you watched Sodom yet? Should probably start with that first.
By Laboured Go To PostThinking of watching Gomorrah. Generally recommended? For sure. I stopped watching at some point, but the first couple of seasons were good. And remember: ogni scarrafone e' bello a mamma soja.
By Cleff Go To PostThis or Sopranos as the best show I've ever watched.the greatest
By Kidjr Go To PostThe wire, succession, sopranos. Think all three are interchangable.Sopranos is 1A and Wire is 1B for me
Succession tho... probably isn't in my top 3
Finished X-Men 97. Kind of fizzled a bit this version of Charles was mid, but I kinda expected comic cyclops to reemerge because of it so that's on me
great stuff tho

By blackace Go To PostSopranos is 1A and Wire is 1B for meSuccession is good, but it won't be something I'll rewatch I think.

The Wire I've rewatched 4 times I think now and Sopranos is due for another one soon.
I think The Shield might be my nr 3.
The Wire is incredible but after finishing it years ago I've never once got the itch to go back and watch it again
I’ve been rewatching Succession. Great fucking show. It isn’t The Sopranos or The Wire, but then nothing really is.
In the 1B tier with Breaking Bad, Deadwood, Better Call Saul, The Americans for me, Clive.
After that, all my faves are comedies. The Office UK (actually my favourite show of all time), Bojack Horseman (although as much a drama as Succession I suppose), Father Ted, 30 Rock, Nathan For You, It’s Always Sunny, The Thick of It.
