On Tuesday, Amazon announced it will roll out three new ad formats for Prime Video later this year to tempt subscribers to purchase promoted items while watching content. Shoppable carousels will soon appear during ad breaks in shows and movies that present viewers with a “sliding lineup” of products they can buy on Amazon. That essentially makes this an ad within another ad, and it even “automatically pauses” if interacted with to give viewers time to browse.
TV shows, movies, and live sports will also show interactive brand trivia ads that can provide rewards “like Amazon shopping credits” and pause ads that bring up a translucent overlay, allowing viewers to directly add the promoted product to their Amazon carts. Amazon says this overlay will only appear while the video is paused but does note that pause ads “extend the engagement opportunity beyond a traditional ad break.”About to throw Prime in the bushes
This shit is about to get confusing again. I have the Hulu Live TV/Disney+/ESPN+ bundle and pay monthly. I pay for HBO Max ULTIMATE Ad-Free annually.
Disney and WBD gonna create a merged app and then hope they can push through the ~$50 a month sports app too?

By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostI'd follow Magneto if I were a mutant, Charles is a sucka.I am not following anyone who names their shit the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and wonders why people shook 😂
By Fenderputty Go To PostThe first two episodes of dark matter have been pretty good.Well executed, solid cast ... my main worry is that the sci-fi concept it's riding on is so trite and overused it would take something truly special to push this into the upper echelons of science fiction TV. I saw people rave about the book it's based on, so hopefully ...
I don’t disagree and also hope the positive book reviews mean more good is to come, but most sci fi concepts are overused lol

He's not good with branding. I'm not following Professor X and his kumbaya way of life if I can summon cat 30 hurricanes on a whim and people want me dead cause I was born a mutant.
So they all sold their stake in Hulu to Disney because they wanted to own their own content and sell it direct to consumers. And now they're burning billions annually because there's no market for their solo shit.
Comcast counters with:
Just license everything to Netflix and all sports on Amazon already. That is the future. They're the only ones with endless money.

EXCLUSIVE: Hiroyuki Sanada, star and producer of FX‘s limited series Shōgun, has closed a deal to return as Lord Yoshii Toranaga, sources tell Deadline. Securing Sanada, whose character’s journey to become shōgun and lead Japan to an era of peace was chronicled in the 10-episode adaptation of James Clavell’s novel, has been considered crucial to any plan to extend Shogun beyond its original installment.
Other elements are still being worked out and deals are being finalized as part of an effort by FX to take Shogun to a second season in light of the big commercial and critical success of the limited series. The outcome of the effort would determine whether Shōgun would be considered a limited or drama series going forward, which could have major ramifications on the 2024 Emmy race, with the timing of the decision tied to the deadline for Emmy submissions.
While there are precedents, including True Detective‘s first season competing as a drama series instead of limited/anthology — something that was rectified for its subsequent installments — the vast majority of limited series are submitted as such. If they subsequently get additional seasons, the shows move to drama series starting in Season 2, which was the case with Downton Abbey, Big Little Lies and The White Lotus.

Terrible choice
I guess the books are a parallel of the Tokugawa Shogunate, at least they'll have some base to work from
