By diehard Go To PostSo is Shogun good or not cause yall confusing me
Shogun is very very good. Everyone says Monarch is trash on Apple TV - probably due to a shitty script. On the flipside, Shogun is an adaptation of a book with a showrunner that knows what she is doing. And in Shogun Anna was given proper material to work with and is able to convey a multitude of emotions that aren't being afraid of Godzilla monsters.
Monarch started out fine but quickly dropped off and turned into another people drama with a slight hint of Kaiju.
Shogun is really great. If it sticks it's ending (I haven't read the book) it'll be the best show I've seen in 2024 easy.

TV show is more focused around the intrigue and internal politics of the Japans. The Anjin is mostly a himbo fumbling his way through it all with a confused look in his stupid face, though he gets a heroic/moral high ground moment every now and then.
Yabushige is the best tho.

I am sure I will watch it some day but having read the book, and seeing Last Samurai, Marco Polo, and Avatar I am kinda doubtful I can overlook shit.

Anjin really didn't seem important at all to the story in it that if he wasn't there you wouldn't notice. I certainly don't give a fuck about him in the story so far.
Halfway through Fallout and it's pretty good. They've nailed the campness and the sense hopelessness of the originals. Not shying away from the violence either. I like that they highlighted the cult like nature of the Brotherhood of Steel and the heavy indoctrination of the Vaults and how they're all one big experiment on the populace.
But they're blowing over what could be big moments in the show. Deaths that should be more significant, gradual loss of morals and sanity in a cruel world that aren't really portrayed well.

I liked it a lot
Ending felt a bit like a mid-season cliffhanger. Got me right in the mood for Fallout 5. Setting and aesthetic is just ripe for stories to be told in it. Will never really understand how the Mass Effect universe went to such shit when I would have said the same about that.

You’d probably enjoy it a lot more tbh.
Finished up season 2 of the wire
Daniels and Lester only police that aren't the absolute worst. Daniels is dumb cuz he should have been left.
Kima might be #1 on worst character list. I didn't think anyone would dethrone McNutty but she did. She doesn't even do anything, then hates her wife/gf after they got pregnant cuz she wants to be police 24/7. At least McNutty and Bunk get absolutely shitfaced after work every night.
oh and Daniels is absolutely way too shredded for a lieutenant. theres never been a cop in the history of cops to have a body like that.

By Laboured Go To PostI think it’s decent to be honest.Oh I don't doubt it.
I just in principle never watch a show that is in its full glazing period. it tends to warp my expectations and I often leave disappointed.
Not really feeling Fallout but I liked the opening scene a lot.
Shogun got the wrong white boy can’t stand his face.

I saw Fallout during the weekend, and it was rather good. Well cast, well produced and funny most of the time.
Can see why it was well liked overall.

I thought Fallout was pretty good except for the whole thing with Vault-Tec being the ones to drop the first bombs. Their explanation was idiotic.
I mean that's their plan, but that doesn't mean that's what actually happened. I feel like showing Bud being a caricature of a big tech suit, and corpos planning the end of the world for profits is the whole point of the joke. It's literally the "the world got destroyed but we created value for shareholders" meme.
Don't think it was supposed to be a smart plan at all.

Shogun is a show that subverts you expectations over the course of 10 episodes. You either appreciate that or you don't.
Ah gosh Shogun really fucking nailed it.
I just hope they don't try for a season 2 or some shit. Just leave it like that, it's perfect.

This latest episode of X-Men '97 introduces an X-Men character that is completely new to me. That's really cool that it can do that.
Also, Rogue is the best best best.

Wasn't that Bastion?
Ah! For some reason I swore that was Mastermind not Mastermold . Names are samey and Mastermind has a Mr. Sinster arc sometimeGuess that makes more sense.
Think Koko is correct and good thing because I was a little confused by the character design when I thought it was Mastermind 😂

Started watching Beef. Wasn't expectingHoobastank at the end. I'm hoping there will be a different Hoobastank song at the end of each episode but I doubt that will be the case.
Is nobody else watching The Sympathizer?
I'm hooked after the first two episodes. Park Chan-wook apparently only directed the first three, hopefully the quirky tone stays consistent throughout the entire seven episode run of the first (only?) season.

Fallout was entertaining but it looked really cheap and fake. The world also felt really small, the scale was wack.
By DiPro Go To PostDoes one need to watch the other 96 Xmens to get it or can i start with this one? There’s a recap at the beginning iirc

Curious if it's working for non-book readers.

It took me most of episode 1 to synchronize with the show's frequency, but once I did ... Yeah, it's great.
The one thing that's not really working for me so far - and I hate to say it, 'cause he's clearly putting in effort - is RDJ. His performances feel ... too much even for a show that's very set up for it with all its tonal shifts. Maybe he'll win me over tho, so I'll reserve final judgement.
