Much preferred it when the drama was contained largely within the specific force they were investigating, rather than trying to connect everything and everyone to the OCG. Buckells reveal was a bit shit, but it was always going to be.

I'm reading up on Barry Jenkins' upcoming "The Underground Railroad" and how tough it was (psychologically) for them to make. I think it's gonna end up amazing but might be brutal to watch.

Yeah, Watchmen and Lovecraft Country probably went as far as majority of audiences are willing to take the racsim/brutality fetishism.
Loved Lovecraft Country btw, the sci-fi turns were fantastic and refreshing. Its got issues and I didn't like the ending. But overall, a fresh take on genres that have been exclusively white spaces.
But, yeah, kinda done with the Slavery, Jim Crow stuff. Surely, there are black stories worth telling that aren't just Slavery/racism, Drugs/gangs and sports.
Would love to see indie coming of age Michael Cera type stories for black audiences.

You'll quickly reality how awful a human being Vince McMahon is if you didn't realize that already.
