By DiPro Go To Postthat's a movie. It's still Disney continuing to do Sam wrong
Watched the first episode of Secret Invasion and thought you know Sam Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Olivia Colman, Tim from the office, some good actors maybe it would be worth a watch. Then the Skrull turned up with their big silly faces and Emilia Clarke just looked like she couldn't be arsed. It just fizzled out and I ended up not bothering with the rest.

I really wanted to like Justified because Timothy is so handsome but that first season was not great. I just completely lost interest
Same with the Americans.
But hey I didn't like Succession at first so there's always hope right

I do have a running theory that anything related to the Skrulls is just extra shit.
By Laboured Go To PostI do have a running theory that anything related to the Skrulls is just extra shit.Sole exception is Lee Pace as Ronan because he's a great actor but everything else was awful
By Laboured Go To PostI had no idea he was meant to be a Skrull lmaoOh wait, he's a Kree, which IDK wtf the difference is. So, your point still stands!
What is Marvel/Disney building towards? Thanos and the Infinity Stones was a pretty simple through line from phase 2 all the way to Endgame.
Now we have multiple timelines, dimension hopping, Celestials and the Skull secretly invading Earth. So many different plot points that haven't been in any way fleshed out. It started off well with Loki and it's building towards Kang the Conquerer is the main villain. But every movie that dealt with it since; Spiderman, Ant-Man and Dr Strange, hasn't built upon the multi-verse concept at all.
It wouldn't be as bad if the movies/shows were good. But for the most part they've been an exercise in content regurgitation. Disney needed their IP on Plus so they pumped them out. Every show they release requires you to have watched the previous one where very little happened etc. Very little happens in the next show and the one after that is the same.

They're also very obviously scared of allowing too much to happen, as it may then put off viewers if they are required to watch other stuff to be able to watch the new stuff. So everything they release is now an exercise in treading water.

Apart from S1 or Mandalorian and Andor, everything else has been pretty shit.
Ant man at least expanded on Kang some. Loki and Wanda Vision were also enjoyable
Not multiverse but I did enjoy Warewolf by Night.
I like Ms Marvel too. Daughter loved it.
What if? (Animated) was good

The Bear is just extraordinary television.
On a craft level, it's impeccable; the acting, the soundtrack, the editing, the script, the cinematography... all wonderful.
But the vibe of it, the feel... S2 E7 is transcendent. Teared up watching it. Great, great fucking show.

Odenkirk and especially Mulaney were wonderful too.
I thought JLC was brill but a teensie part of me wanted Edie Falco. Gimme those real italian vibes. It was when she said prozshoot.
Falco would've been great but a bit obvious -- it's why I liked the JLC casting.
And yea, Mulaney nailed that monologue.

The moment where the T-Swift music kicks in in E7 is the best TV I’ve seen in years. And yes I fucking loved Succession.

Just incredible.
Was Twisted Metal supposed to air on a cable tv channel? It has parts of the show that are deliberate fade outs for where commercials would go. Even the intro has that styling. Or it is that how Peacock TV shows are for subs that get ads?
Twisted Metal has the original version of the real theme song for the movie that's currently the biggest thing in the world. That's wild.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostStudios are willing to hold it until after Christmas because they expect the strike to end as people will run out of money.
Supposed to take place in September so I guess they are not expecting a resolution anytime soon.

Back to Star Trek being dead.
What don't you like about it? I really enjoy the variety of Strange New Worlds. Whilst sometimes they miss (S2E1), sometimes they really hit (S2E2, S2E8). I think there's an episode in it for every sort of viewer. Honestly, my only wish for it is that they'd stretch the budget to make longer seasons.
Watched the whole 10 episodes of Twisted Metal today and I really hope we can get a season 2.
It was surprisingly good fun, Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz were great but Samoa Joe and Will Arnett steal the show as Sweet Tooth.
Didn't have as much vehical combat as I would like but the world is so full of interesting characters that it didn't bother me that much.
It's not top tier TV and not every joke lands but I had a blast watching it.
It sets up what could be a great second season so I hope it gets a chance.
I am in the mood for some Twisted Metal, probably going to play Black tomorrow.

I enjoyed the first season, more or less. I made some concessions in regards to its overall quality because I liked how it came together. Definitely some very good, some below average stuff but pretty good overall, even the humor hit sometimes. I like it more on the serious side, but Star Trek might be silly while still retaining some core elements. S2E01 just had a combination of all the things I hate, a million contrivances, characters behaving out of character for the sole purpose of following such contrivances, and the show pretty much throwing away all the rules that make it work in favor of pointless action with no much meaning or depth. And the stupid Chapel-Spock subplot which was close to the worst thing of S1.
The opening ep of last season convinced me to give it a shot because despite the minor dumb stuff, it had a thoughtful point that it resolved with poise and maturity. The opening ep of S2 just throws away all of that. Spock gets made captain and immediately steals the ship (while #1 is under serious investigation they want us to take seriously and the real captain is off looking to break other regulations to save a character that already broke yet more regulations). Then they immediately introduce yet another potentially season long conflict with the Klingons (so tired of this shit), two supporting characters go completely off the fucking rails with a super serum for the benefit of a lame hulk out/john wick hallway fight scene and an even dumber faux sacrifice that's more marvel movie than wrath of Khan.
From the rest of the crew, Uhura is the only one who remembers to act like a professional staff member of the federation's flagship which apparently is like the family pick up truck off to every side quest now (I know, not the first time). I generally like the characters. I like Uhura, I like M'benga, I like Spock and Una and Johnny Bravo... but when they act like themselves.
I just can't with this right now. It's forgetting everything it tried to do right away to have an explosive opening. It's Mass Effectrek all over again.

Just finished it myself. Did 5 episodes last night and 5 tonight. If anyone is wondering it's essentially 30 minutes and change per episode. With the strike going on I feel like the cuts to black are there for the show to be repurposed for USA network or something.
Either way it was a fun watch. The pilot episode feels like a pilot where they're doing a lot of stuff to see what works or doesn't and things correct themselves from ep 2 to the finale.
I've never seen Stephanie Beatriz in anything before (I don't remember her voice acting in one of the Ice Age movies) and I thought she was great as "Quiet."
Samoa Joe is a hell of a physical actor. Great wrestler too...see ya on Collision tomorrow.
A lot of the budget went to the soundtrack and they nailed the songs. Like I said yesterday, they have the real theme song for the #1 movie in the world and they might have topped that with another song choice in episode 8.
I decided to give the show a chance and I'm happy I did.
Franklin is goofier than his friends.

Been hearing good things about Twisted Metal and Gran Turismo.
By good things, it means they arent trash - which is huge for video game properties.
Which would make PlayStation Production 3 for 3.
Wild.
