Like Wooden I've (re)started S1 since I only got to ep5 a few years ago. Up to ep7 now and it is getting better.

It just isn't what I fell in love with anymore and that's okay.
They do have a lot of movie parodies though and a lot of retreads but that's a given if you're 30+ seasons deep.
Just do a goddamn timeskip of 6-8 years or something.
Would create a new dynamic and you'll have plenty of new story potential.

The Simpsons being 'good' would be no big deal. Plenty of things are 'good'. It has been terrible, but as long as it isn't actively one of the best and funniest TV shows ever (seasons 3-9) then it's still a long fucking way off what it once was.
Simpsons seasons 11-16 were good, but I doubt I'd ever really seek them out aside from the 2-3 classics of that era. And there are probably dozens of animated comedies that are good, but I'm never gonna bother watching bobs burger either
