By Laboured Go To PostVABRO BRINCE
By s y Go To PostThe tweet and headline are weirdly worded. The new show(pitch) has nothing to do with BB/BCSThis makes me very interested on Gilligan's next show.
I also love how this is another reminder that Breaking Bad/ Better Call Saul wouldn't exist as their are if it wasn't for the X-Files as Gilligan worked hard to make Bryan Cranston the lead of Breaking Bad after working with him on a X-Files episode because the the studio wanted to go with Matthew Broderick.
By JesalR Go To PostI think at this point I’d put Odenkirk over Cranston in these roles at least, there’s a continuing dimension to Saul that there never was with White, and in fact felt like his character got more and more narrow. Both characters are dumbasses who decided their egos and pride were worth more than the people they loved.
Seehorn the goat though
Stumbled across youtube vid on the dark side of children's TV. The first segment was on Yost's treatment on set by the producers of MMPR.
Truly disgusting. and my day is ruined.

Hey Sandman is not that bad!
I wish they went with a scruffy looking dude though like peak Bob Dylan or Pete Doherty lol

He's always been a Gaiman insert, and it's TV, so I'm not surprised they went with that guy. I still want to see the tests of a dude with bleached white skin and black contacts. Even though I know it was always meant to be stylized
By Freewheelin Go To Post5 eps into the Americans s1, good show so far, well-writtenReally enjoyed it when I watched it a few years ago. Surprised that it was created by a former Yank spook too.

“We had a series of camera tests to try to find out what [the look] should be,” Sturridge tells Tudum. “And I’m an intense fan of The Sandman, and the first thing that I wanted was a literal translation of what’s on the page onto my body. And so we painted my skin as white as an A4 piece of paper. I had black contact lenses with stars, and the hair was huge and wild exactly as it is. And I thought I looked amazing.”
SEE I KNEW IT
“I would walk around the corridors of Shepperton Studios [dressed] like that, and people would just double take and go, ‘What the fuck? Are you going to do some sort of Halloween movie?’ ” Sturridge recounts. “And so it just didn’t work.”lol
My memory is failing but it feels like they did that with a few characters and also changed their sexuality in some cases too.
Not that I think it makes any difference.
I'm almost disappointed in myself that the Gregory bit got me that bad. The animation was good.

Finished Stranger Things 4 - They should have broken these episodes up into more episodes.
Overall, pretty good.
Max is my fave character, so I am kind of bummed what happened there
The whole Russia segment was kind of a waste - I don't even know what they accomplished there.

Stranger Things is the reverse of The Walking Dead
ST keeping it's shitty original characters instead of the likeable new characters whereas TWD has all the shitty new characters instead of keeping the characters from like the first 2-3 seasons.

I mean it's to let the best actor on the show have some breathing space I guess.
By s y Go To PostThey race swapped death? The official line is they saw "hundreds" of actors but Howell-Baptiste had the best big sisterly chemistry with Sturridge
Why?
I mean watch episode 6, they're not wrong
edit: oh here's the quote
"We saw a lot of Deaths, well into the many hundreds. But Kirby had a quality that was unique of being able to speak honestly to power," Gaiman recalls. "That honesty, and the fact that she could deliver those lines and you believe them, were what sold me on Kirby 100 percent. We had supermodels, we had all sorts of amazing people a lot more famous than Kirby auditioning. But I didn't believe they were Death, I didn't believe they were Tom's big sister that could boss him around. Then Kirby came on and it was just like, 'I love you, I believe you, and you're it.'"
Gaiman is cringe city but he created the character so he can be enamored with goth white women in his 20s and performatively woke in his 60s and who's gonna stop him
By DY_nasty Go To PostWait gaiman is cringe now whatNot has to be stopped
By Laboured Go To PostShe is gud tho and she sells the unexpected maturity and positivity that the role requires.100%
Sorry guys I have more Gaiman takes that I'll keep to myself
^ The dinosaur shit from Jurassic Park is staggering
Imagine making that T-Rex model in 1993 on this bad boy

The one annoying thing in Sandman is that the age of some of the characters are like 100 years old.
I am guessing it is because they set it in the present but the comics were based in the 80s(?)
And yeah, Death was great.

Why?
Why not? They hired the actor they believed best for the role.
By s y Go To PostI don't think that would hold up if the races were reversedYou don't need to troll this one
Watched season finale of For All Mankind, they were not fucking around here. Just when I thought they were gonna lose me, they reel me back in.

Always found race swapping corny
This isn’t Matthew Broderick playing Marcus Garvey tho, is it. It’s an actor playing a fictional representation of death in a comic book adaptation.
Kids say the darndest things (in the privacy on their own home when they believe nobody is listening)
Harris recently returned from shooting the new season of “Doctor Who” in Wales. Showrunner Russell T Davis offered him a role after they worked together on “It’s a Sin,” HBO Max’s limited series about the early days of the AIDS epidemic. “Sex Education” star Ncuti Gatwa will make his debut as the new incarnation of the Doctor. This is probably going to be so so good
“I got to meet and interact with him a bit and he’s glorious,” Harris says of Gatwa. “He’ll be the first gay Doctor, which is going to be super cool, a sexier Doctor.”
I trust RTD
