By data Go To PostMaybe I'm out of the loop but isnt HBO Max's most watched show Euphoria which is predominatnetly watched by women? And their next big upcoming series is about yas girlboss Daenarys?Yeah they're looked at as exceptions though. Since we're catered to already with John Wicks and such it's easy to support these morons when they say they have the empirical inflexible data justifying everything. What you do with that data matters just as much
It aint like they're putting out Sopranos and The Wire sequels
Also Many Saints, We Own This City, definitely more kid gandolfini stuff on the way
Edit: also of course, that stuff is pre-merger
Finished S3 of The Boys. Narratively it leans a little too much on contrived reasons to keep its cast alive, but it’s a very fun show with some really good performances, some exciting action sequences and does a decent job of balancing clever satire with over the top puerility. Show is elevated whenever Starr is on screen.

His actor's training space is like a 20 minute walk from my house lol. Young Actor's Studio is long gone, it's said "for lease" for like 2 years
Pitfire Pizza right next to it on magnolia and lankershim is really good
I hope Joshua gets more work

Lame earth family drama aside, when For All Mankind decides to do space drama instead it's mint. The end of S3 Episode 4 *muah*

why are they trying to hbomax themselves? I don't get it
HBOmaxLATAM's twitter account already confirmed HBOmax will be replaced by a new app at the end of the year. Crazy. Way to waste all the money they spent on marketing to position the brand during the year

The family drama stuff in For All Mankind is really starting to sour the show for me. Space stuff is still top tier.

Enjoying Sandman so far. Gets a lot more right than it gets wrong which is impressive given the source material.

New Beavis and Butt-Head is pretty good but kind of weird. I get why it's considered a new series instead of just another season like the last revival.
They talk a LOT more. It feels a little more KOTH I guess

They also seem to be doing alright with the budget as far as special effects go. Nothing felt particularly cheap so far.
I wouldn't worry, feels like a two seasons tops kind of show. No way they don't cancel it prematurely.

The Danny storyline is bottom tier stuff, if they're gonna do the space psycho shit just have him break like his father, but not on some jaded lover shit.

I’m sorry but your first paragraph is incredible hyperbole.
Another great episode. Rhea Seehorn is the best actor on TV.

Eps 5 and 6 were tops.

BCS...wow. As usual. I think at this point i'll wait until after the finale to compile all my thoughts.
I guess all I'll say is...I'm not looking forward to people ranking BB/BCS in a week, they're the same show. They're one and the same. I mean fuck, they probably could have called BCS 'Breaking Bad' and at this point it would have worked.

Glad it wasn’t just me that thought episodes five and six of Sandman were top tier.
I don’t know anything of the source material, but I loved this show.
I hope it gets done through its natural conclusion, but at least I can pick up the comics if Netflix are cunts.

One of the best things about BCS is that it makes BB retrospectively better on a character level. Gus’ final scene alone was worth all the relatively tension-free cartel stuff in terms of just giving him that little extra shade. So too, Mike. One of the things I always found a little off with Breaking Bad is how competent it presents Mike and then how quickly Walt gets the jump on him because he makes the mistake of trusting Walt. We don’t get any of Mike failing in that show. In BCS, he gets that perfect scene with Nacho’s dad where it’s shown his entire existence is a failure.
Odenkirk has been incredible this season. To think the same guy introduced in that Breaking Bad episode is now playing Jimmy/Saul/Gene all at once, culminating in his threat to Marion where I genuinely thought he might strangle her… it’s a remarkable performance. Seehorn gets a lot of the acclaim, and rightfully so, but Odenkirk’s work here is as good as Cranston’s in my opinion.

I wouldn't go that far personally but yeah he is absolutely sensational in the role, it really is incredible what he's been able to do.
Cranston is another level for me though as Walt, his performance as Walt is potentially second only to James Gandolfini in terms of all time TV performances.
One more hour in this universe, fuck me...
Gandolfini for sure top.
I think this final run for Odenkirk has nailed it for me. From episode 6.09 to 6.12, he has played so many variations and facets of this character.
Finale spoilers I believe Paul is done now. Cranston says he has one scene left though.

I loved the stuff in the latest ep where Kim deferred on every decision, even ice cream. It shows how deep she’s buried herself and how afraid she is of being that person again. And that scene on the bus is incredible. Six years of repression, of existing without living, of getting miracle whipped and yup-yupped. What a performance. What a character. What a show.
I think at this point I’d put Odenkirk over Cranston in these roles at least, there’s a continuing dimension to Saul that there never was with White, and in fact felt like his character got more and more narrow.
Seehorn the goat though
Seehorn the goat though
I just started a BB rewatch (6 eps in) and Cranston is unbelievable early doors. The monologue at the intervention is heartbreaking. He’s brilliant throughout; I just agree with Jesal that eventually he has less dimensions to play. I would never have said Bob > Cranston even a season ago, but this final stretch has done it for me.
Seehorn is GOAT though. Remarkable actor.

Word is that the new show harkens back to Gilligan’s tenure on The X-Files. But don’t expect a sci-fi drama — when he was a writer-producer on The X-Files, Gilligan was known for focusing more on the human condition in his episodes, which is something he is said to also be doing in his new series, exploring similar themes of bending reality while holding a mirror to humanity.
Described as a blended, grounded genre drama, the new series also is being compared to The Twilight Zone. It is said to be set in our world while putting a tweak on it, focusing on people and exploring the human condition in an unexpected, surprising way.
