Cuomo was riding high there for a min. NY recovered. Trump was acting like the disease wasn’t a big deal and that disinfectant could cure covid. Cuomo’s briefings were a stark contrast at the time. He also jabbed Trump which just tickled Dems. Probably had presidential aspirations. Then he wrote a book and life came at him really fast.
A load of male police officers pushing down women, at a vigil for a woman who was raped and murdered by a police officer.
Doesn't help that they let any scumbag dickhead be a pig whilst pushing out all the old-boy coppers who used to do walk beats and community service.
Which is why the media will soon turn on Biden because they need something to talk about.
You're already seeing it with headlines like "Biden rushes through $1.9 tril stimulus bill without bipartisan support"

By n8 dogg Go To PostThe UK public has heavily supported giving the police more and more draconian powers to enforce the lockdowns.
Who would have thought they and the gov would exploit this for their own ends?
Prince Philip is looking better than ever before!! He’s getting in shape for 2022 and the republicans are freaking out!!
By FortuneFaded Go To PostThose click bait tweets, and liberals bite on them everytime. Posting how they aren't freaking out in droves, which makes them look like they are freaking out 😂

Indeed. They feed into each other, though. If all they're recruiting are bastards then eventually ACAB is true.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostMf think it all looks like the Shibuya Crossing 😭😂90% of Japan is a tiny street with apartments/houses and / or farms / rice fields with no sidewalks, and random vending machines that sell can clam soup.
By Daz Go To Postits not like Persona 5?Life could never be that tedious and horrible.
Yeah, last time I was there I wanted to find one of those used panties vending machines but it was all fucking clam soup. It's just not the same. Very disappointed.
Gotta go the highest floor of M's in Akihabara where they don't allow gaijin to get the used panties and other stuff

Can confirm since I once watched a video of someone walking through Tokyo. I'm an expert.

By EldritchTrapStar Go To PostRacism disguised as "satire". These clowns have been trash for a hot minute.
What makes you say that? I don’t see anything racist about it. Offensive? Sure, but that’s what they do and they have every right to.

They have every right to be racist...No one is arguing against that

Actually they don’t have the right to be racist, they have the choice. If you can prove that comic strip is racist, then it’s hate speech and that is a crime. So either it’s racist and they should pay for it, or it’s not racist and this is just an attempt at censorship because it’s offensive.
Just like discrimination isn’t racism by default, something that is offensive isn’t by default racist.
Throwing back the question at me seems like an easy way to not have to explain how it’s racist. Who is being racist? Charlie Hebdo? The illustrator? Or the cartoon queen?
Tasteless, of course. Very tasteless, I wouldn’t have picked George Floyd’s tragedy to mock the theater of bs that is this whole Meghan and Harry vs Monarchy stunt.
this feels like talking in a lot of directions... it's offensive, tasteless, more of the same, cringe, etc
but its sitting heavy on racism lol. how is that not racist? because they're trying to be witty about it? that's not provacative or some subversive quirky new spin.

Bro what...
Right off the bat, they are using the imagery in the exact same manner that whites supremacists and bigot adjacent individuals have been doing, since George was killed: to mock black people wholesale, using black pain and death. There is literally no other reason for them to have done it. They are trying to both sides the issue, at hand.
The image is clearly used to poke fun at Meghan, because she said something along the lines of "feeling suffocated" due to how racist the royal family was being towards her. Another tactic bigots like to use, is to purport that racism can't be experienced by anyone that's not under a specific class. Her experiences with bigotry aren't valid, because she's not poor. Her suicidal ideations were not in fact caused by rampant racism, because she exists in to high of a tax bracket.
Take a step back and ask yourself who the fuck needed this satire? Was it black people? More specifically, black women? No? Did white people need it? Floyd's death was a global event. Megan's interview was a global event. They didn't need it either. Who was this specific brand of satire aimed at? It wasn't anyone with a working brain cell that didn't delight in black suffering.
If this was just about the Queen, then they wouldn't have drawn Megan in this specific manner, or invoked George's death: especially this close to the trial. It's more depraved bullshit.
They always use racist ass shit in their drawings and people stay going to bat for them.

Just because it can't be proven without a shadow of a doubt that it was criminally racist doesn't excuse it. That's basically how things Trump got away with skirting the line the entire time.

Imagine using a racial crime to try to explain how the queen treated Meghan and thinking there is nothing racially charged behind your statement.

A lot of directions? Seemed pretty focused to me. I didn’t deviate from the topic or the subject at all.
Dealing with a racist theme doesn’t imply the text is racist. Saying it’s not provocative seems to be factually wrong considering the reactions, unless the we are redefining the meaning of the word. Being subversive, quirky or new are not required qualifiers here, and I’m not debating the quality of the satire. Charlie Hebdo has always been crass.
By DY_nasty Go To Postwhy are you trying to separate these things tho?Apparently you can only be racist if proven by law.
lol that withstanding...
just because its hebpo, it doesn't make elevate what's essentially the same trashtier memelord content that wouldn't even get a pass on Twitch
I really feel like some are trying to attribute some higher understanding to this stuff like they don't push trash as a trade and try to prop themselves up with "we're trying to rub people the wrong way on purpose because that's how you win" isms
you could get the same value and 'nuanced perspectives' out of minstrel shows
