One thing that has gone through my mind. I wonder if all those people getting arrested because of the terrorist attack are going to change their minds about former felons voting.
By DiPro Go To Posti will never trust a republican, especially mitch, to do the right thing.
Don’t, I don’t either ... it’s a self serving calculation though. Ripping the trump bandaid off quickly.
I think the life-long GOPers will feel they'll need the full 4 years to clean the stench off at least, and also prevent him from contending again.
By DY_nasty Go To PostMaybe, I dunno, ask why all these reps were doing entirely different things in response to this?My job has a response to something like this but in the heat of the moment who is gonna remember that?
I agree with the whole testing the alarm. We do that every day at my job. That way you know that if the alarm didn’t work the next day, someone could have tampered with it in the last 24 hours.
By DiPro Go To Posti will never trust a republican, especially mitch, to do the right thing. He will probably do it because it's the right thing for him. Donations are being threatened, Trump's rabid fan base is now too toxic for the republicans and Trump is completely unleashed.
They either make a clean break now and try to find a good candidate for 2024 or they risk getting tied up to Trump's lunacy who has been distancing more people by the day.

Mitch understands something these sedition voters in congress didn’t on the 6th. There will be a continued trickle of news info coming out about this for months. Q people are already tossing congress members under the buss, one of whom has already pointed to the WH direction.
Y’all realize this is the longest the news has stayed focused on any single Trump scandal without interruption. Once Biden starts, the news will become more normal again. Outside of this insurrection, the news will just have legislation and appointments to talk about.

By Xpike Go To Postnow i believe maybe they will turn on trump, no one messes with their money
Did Trump's base of support drop off recently? I don't understand why they are trying to drop him if he still possesses the power he had over his party, which was his base support, which kept them from doing anything against him these last four years.

So much bravery from these companies.
But at the same time it’s even better. Donny probably thought “oh well I only have two weeks left at most, what’s the worst that can happen?”

He has his base that would die for him but it’s not gonna win them any elections.

He’s basically getting at what I’m trying to say. I think people are overstating any blowback against him from his party.

I also believe that Trumpism is fleeting -- they always come back home just like they did after GWB.
I also think party leaders are tired of Trumpism dictating their agenda. He was a means to an end but it clearly cost them.

Meh soon enough this thread will just be Not pop pooing Dems for republicans obstruction
Y’all heard of the Epoch Times? Falun Gong funded pro-Trump, far right paper that’s been making serious inroads in the last 2-3 years. It’s basically propaganda and they hand issues out for free on street corners. I think the organization structure is still pretty shadowy and hidden.

I also believe that Trumpism is fleeting – they always come back home just like they did after GWB.I don’t think this is as a new reality as it is standard pendulum switching. Remember when Obama was a motivating factor for the GOP to come out to vote? This type of stuff always and happens and I don’t think Trump is unique in that aspect. Negative partisanship has always been a thing but you’re right it’s probably even more prominent now due to the internet and the 24/7 news cycle.
I also think party leaders are tired of Trumpism dictating their agenda. He was a means to an end but it clearly cost them.
I also don’t think it cost them anything unique except perhaps the scope of the defeat, that doesn’t happen anyway when the ruling party is in power and the opposition is empowered and always makes gains in the midterms and following election. He’s still massively popular and the grievance campaign is gonna be huge very soon.
By Daz Go To PostAOC not having it part 2Yes, yes. But her and others like Bush need to keep this energy when they speak on the house floor. Call them out in front of everyone. Decorum my ass. They clearly don’t give a fuck about anything so let those hands fly.

You know what's gotta hurt Republicans? If they found Trump guilty of impeachment last year, they might have won the White House and Senate.
