House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on Thursday called for the resignation of Steven Sund, chief of the Capitol Police, after a pro-Trump mob was able to storm the building.
She said she has not heard from him since the violent riot at the Capitol yesterday.
"There was a failure of leadership at the top of Capitol Police. I think Mr. Sund — He hasn’t even called us since this happened," she said during a news conference.
Eva Malecki, the spokeswoman for the Capitol Police, told NBC News, "The chief has no plans to step down."

even in that small clip of the woman being shot and the videos of people coming into the building you have dramatically different responses for each element of LE present. moving barriers, some scatter and individually established security personnel tagging stragglers, people walking in and honoring the velvet ropes, armed LE moving along with the group and NOT touching them, secret service or direct personnel security responding as if they'd not even been alerted to the current threat or even what type it is, people being evacuated but not by priority or even being screened as to their importance or potential involvement, no fire doors or barriers going off, etc - i really could rant all day
if you've ever been in that building, you know that taking a picture too hard or having a sign too big gets you stomped the fuck out on quiet day
