By Fenderputty Go To PostDems are Fucked … hope the whole thing burns to the groundNext year is going to be a blood bath.
Terry sealed his fate with the education gaffe. I held my nose and voted for McAullife, but he wasn't an exciting candidate and he ran a terrible campaign. Youngkin actually talked about what he would do for people, and Terry just kept linking him to Trump to no avail.
Democrats never learn. Messaging that you're just not the other side is not compelling politics. You have to actually trumpet your successes and tell people what you can do to help them. Positive messaging is much more effective to swing voters (of which there a lot!) than the attack ads and talking about Trump.
By rodeoclown Go To PostNext year is going to be a blood bath.Dems learned plenty. To them, their biggest threats come from their left

Watch what people do, not what they say etc
the fact independents threw terry in the bushes so fast should be horrifying dem candidates everywhere
Probably worse
Dems eating their own and opting to prop up dead weight is only going to make things harder. Republicans playing to the center is gonna chop the legs out of just about every advantage the democrats typically lean on.

By Fenderputty Go To PostBold take from Wasserman. Ruling party has lost seats in the mid-terms every time outside of like two instances. This was always going to happen.
We really gonna repeat 2016 in 2024. MAGAA
its worse because nothing dramatic has even happened yet 😂
Dems can't even shill properly anymore

Goddammit, Horse.
Virginia is a major humiliation for Democrats.
This is a state that hasn't elected a Republican statewide in eons, effectively a blue state, and Democrats have unified control in Washington. They should have had legislation to run on (build back better). Fuck this.
Fully expecting a major red wave in 2022.

Wonder if we are going to see a sustained run of one term presidents in the US due to the historical level of partisan divide.

Biden fucking sucks
By Daz Go To PostJust pray the running republican candidate for white House is not a sociopath.its gonna be the current florida guy so lol
That is all.
White women did what they normally did. Who could have foreseen this?
Someone shouted, "critical race theory" and certain groups ran for cover.
Dems are ass at messaging, like they normally are. It's almost as if, "but we're not Trump," isn't good enough, anymore. Yes, to anyone living outside of the country, I know how wild this statement seems, considering how the Republicans behave.
Who knew that allowing Manchin and Sinema to act like they're the president and vp, would cause issues?
Typical, usual, Democratic nonsense strikes again.
Now, we're at the point where Dems start blaming:
-Black People
-LGBT (Specifically Black members)
-Progressives
-Hispanics
-Anyone that isn't a white cis religious "moderate"

By Perfect Blue Go To PostAbsolute scenes when the first female president is a woman
Quite.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostWhich president hasn’t suckedYeah no like seriously tho fr
you can't set the expectations at "anyone but trump" and then go out and fuck that up. at least Trump could keep his supporters happy and every once in a while dupe others into agreeing on his middle ground areas (the DACA stuff in particular was hilarious looking back).
Biden is struggling to clear the lowest bar in decades and the Dem strategy has simply been to not talk about it.
Give the administration their credit. Trump had a revolving door on personnel but somehow this group is worse. Only a matter of time before they drop the charade, get desperate, and start blaming minorities again.
Edit: lol Republicans will push a female president or speaker and the run the table. its only a matter of time. just a matter of finding someone. If Palin wasn't an absolute jackass they'd have run back to that well already. Shit, she was still a better VP candidate than Kamala 😂
By Perfect Blue Go To PostAbsolute scenes when the first female president is a womanYeah, a female woman is too much for reality to handle.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostI think he's in a really, really tough spot - and it's kind of not his fault, but that's politics so he will get the blame.

Inflation is a significant concern for lots and lots of Americans, and with good reason. No one likes higher prices. Now, there's only so much Biden can do about global supply chains + the pandemic... but he's the president.
Similarly in congress, the entire legislative agenda is being held up by 2 Senators. That's it. Nothing he can do about Joe fucking Manchin not wanting paid family leave, for example.
It's so shit.
By Andrew Go To PostI think he's in a really, really tough spot - and it's kind of not his fault, but that's politics so he will get the blame.Trump failed to drain the swamp, failed to build the wall, and oversaw the world's worst response to the pandemic, but his approval rating barely wavered. Success and perception are seemingly unrelated phenomena.

Most people are not tuned in, and don't care, about politics. When they go to fill up the car and it's considerably more expensive than when the previous guy was in charge... they notice.
Additionally, Trump (and whatever other Republican) has an entire right wing media infrastructure of Fox News, Breitbart, Facebook, etc, to operate in an almost state sponsored fashion. This is the real problem, of large portions of Americans being radicalised by extreme media. They live in an alternate reality, unburdened by facts. I honestly don't know what the Democrats can do about it.
He could at minimum not put a cardboard cutout like Mayor Pete on transportation and give everyone looking in an easy target.
The focus stayed firmly on the lowest of hanging fruit or pure meme content. Now every time that they have to readdress something like police reform, education, or any other number of promises, there's a long, painful re-framing of the situation and plea for understanding as priorities unsurprisingly shift time and time again.

Success and perception are seemingly unrelated phenomena. And at the same time we're somehow reemphasizing immigration cages and all, courts are legitimately packed, and Biden's attacks on pandemic response were so over the top that we're still trying to convince people that it's not a 'Trump Vaccine' and states haven't been put to task on the same critical shortcomings that created chaos in the first place.

What’s the point? It’ll just be removed anyway
Aren’t you supposed to mislead before the election so people vote for you? Wtf is the point of misleading after you already lost.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostLmao weird typo. Meant to say Republican.I was getting ready for Don't Laugh mk 2 for a second.
Not that your actual meaning is particularly odd, given that in the UK the Tories have had two female PMs while Labour still have had none
It can't be very surprising that a woman advocating conservative or reactionary views and policies would be perceived by a patriarchal society as less threatening and more electable than a woman advocating (putatively) progressive ones.
