Love how the people working in the airport's administration and governance recognize it's one of the most hated airports in the country lol.
JFK is so wild in how bad it is from terminal to terminal. One days you land and walk through an underground cave with nothing inbetween the exits but the baggage carousels, and the other with like high Saks 5th Avenue boutiques.
I think it's cause each terminal is privately owned.

New York airports felt like I was in a ghetto.

Each time I go to JFK they make me walk outside from one connecting flight to the next like a heathen
my first big flight as a young lad was to JFK and i was so shocked how shit it was. especially since i flew in from Frankfurt which was lovely.

I can’t imagine having to land at JFK and then taking the E train to Manhattan for the first time ever. You always hear about NY and then you get here and deal with that?
Best thing was the border control people yelling at me as loud as i ever heard anyone yell and i had no clue what they wanted from me since i barely spoke any english.
We took the taxi from the airport and the city was fine!

Senate Democrats’ plan to extract hundreds of billions of dollars from the wealth of billionaires hit a major snag on Wednesday when Senator Joe Manchin III, Democrat of West Virginia, denounced it as divisive.
Before the meeting on Wednesday morning, Mr. Manchin told reporters that “we owe it to the president to move forward,” but he signaled that it would take time before the package would be ready for a vote. He also denounced a proposed plan to tax billionaires as a way of paying for the bill. Why the fuck hasn't he been stripped of all his committee assignments. Is he the fucking POTUS now and setting the agenda? FOH
“I don’t like the connotation that we’re targeting different people,” he said.

We tried everything but Manchin wasn’t playing ball. Sorry guys
It said only “a few paragraphs in the introduction” and “an equally short conclusion” had not been copied wholesale, amounting to an exercise in plagiarism “unparalleled in its scope” – a verdict that it said had been confirmed by independent experts.
Fully 20 pages of the thesis were lifted straight from the website of the European parliament in defiance of a clear copyright warning, it said, with nine more taken from a 1998 report by a Greek MEP and further passages copied from a standard introductory textbook on the EU’s institutions.
“The plagiarism I found is very problematic because long passages were transferred almost word for word,” Anna-Lena Högenauer, a political science professor at the University of Luxembourg, told the outlet. “You can’t accidentally copy several pages.”

The most striking thing about the tax provisions that made it into the framework President Biden announced on Thursday is how they preserve the ability of business owners to accumulate vast fortunes with minimal taxation — while extracting more money from the highest-paid people those owners employ. It is these “working rich,” as the investor Clifford Asness has called them, who would pay much of the bill for an expanded social welfare system. Can you believe the Leader of the Free World reneged on politely entreating our god-emperors to contribute more of their resources to the betterment of the masses they quelled, which they would have easily avoided doing anyway? I don't even think SB is the only UC doing shit like that. Makes sense though, increase housing for students, be the housing yourself and get more even more money from out of state attendees.
I'm tired of means testing anything at this point (or how we go about it), it just sows division among classes and makes wealthier people bitter about the assistance they don't get.
It's so strange to me that the most powerful and the richest country that ever existed refuses to invest in their most valuable asset, their human capital. I honestly just don't get it. In regards to taxing the ultra high net worth (UHNW) individuals it really doesn't even change their life style at all because the options available to those individuals allow them to be outside of these options. The real issue is that UHNW are stateless, they have mobility and the capital to set up complex structures to avoid taxation.

You wouldn't want gubmnent taking your hard earned dollar because of the insanity of how corporate America compensates executives
Facetiousness aside, we shouldn't be just looking into changing the way we tax the rich and wealthy, but we should be changing laws to limit how we compensate them so that the money that goes to them could be distributed more evenly to the workers actually putting in the work to make this whole fucking thing run.
We're only looking at this from an angle of what happens after the money has been distributed and it's really frustrating. Corporations will always choose to pay their executives first then figure out how to pay everyone else, which always leaves less for the rest because they take a disproportionate amount of the pie first.

On the one hand, it’s a transformative piece of legislation in many respects but, on the other hand, it’s a shell of what could have been.
Possibly the biggest failure of Obamacare was that they Democrats used a huge amount of political capital to pass healthcare reform, but were punished by the voters because they didn’t see the benefits of it quickly enough (other reasons too).
I fear they are making that mistake again by spending trillions and the average American won’t notice, or appreciate it, and they get hammered in 2022 & 2024.
