By Xpike Go To Posteverton would have cl guaranteed next season if they had a better keeperI’ll be honest with you, as much as I hate that gorm looking mannequin, and lose us about 6 points a season we just simply aren’t good when we miss a player or 2
Doucoure was suspended and Allan is injured
We were simply shit
Don’t know if we deserve CLspot with this kind of squad

Goals for v goals against suggests it might be more about their attack.
By LabouredPatriot Go To PostThe point is he needn't have to had at least one out of three players had done their basic job but he still fucking tried when they didn't.
This isn't a #desire problem imo. It's a problem created by Maguire's touch towards the keeper, a poor clearance, and then this:
So everyone is on man marking except for Tuanzebe? Seems like mixed zonal, which means Axel needs to close the gap, not Bruno who is not a box to box.

You wouldn't have your centre half step up there. There would be a massive gap in front of Maguire that would be asking for trouble, and Burke would make the run into that space straight away
just boggles my mind how a pro football team just stares at sheffield passing around in the box for about 30 seconds, including the same player shooting from the same position twice, unmarked

Also way the play develops in motion (very slowly in real time btw) Matic could've charge Burke. As could have one of Martial or Cavani.
What the bloody hell, Man Utd?

Because Telles is trying to cover two players when he shouldn't be worrying about Burke. Doesn't matter how much energy you close players down with, the ball will just get passed around you
Cavani is supposed to be playing up front at this point I think. He shouldn't really need to be back there

There would be a massive gap in front of Maguire that's would be asking for trouble, and Burke would make the run into that space straight awayIf Matic and Telles are chasing their man down to the edge of the box, it's literally the LCB's job to cover the entrance into the first post. If anything Pogba drops back between the CBs (because Matic is awol) and points to Bruno to cover his man in the edge of the box to block a long shot, not chase the runner.
But either case, I agree it IS a communication issue, because when you pluck 2 defenders from one game to the next, it's obvious the other 2 have no clue what anyone else needs to be doing. That's coaching's fault primarily, but the loss is 99% down to attitude anyway.

Agree but likewise with Bruno (which is where this conversation began) if he's there why the fuck not?

He is covering the near post though. As I said, he should probably be yard across towards the ball, which is made difficult because Telles should also be further across and a bit deeper (but is not).
You don’t want your centre halfs charging around the penalty area and opening up space when the opponent is trying to play their way into the box. Sorry but that’s suicidal

I’m not sure at what point you mean, but from that point shown Martial can’t leave Matic in a 2 vs 1. Cavani picking up Burke is a messy situation and it’s not where you’d want your striker when it’s 1-1. If the ball comes back up the pitch no one will be there to try and hold onto it (I know Rashford is up but at this point I think he’s supposed to be more towards the right hand side) so you would make it much more difficult for yourselves to get out

Parma has horse sandwiches.

Shit ain’t turn based breh, this ain’t the Queens Gambit. Nor is this dead ball set piece. Pogba/Tuan need to be filling the space right in front of him, because they are inside the area and Bruno is ways off.

I’m not going to put together a video of the whole sequence am I. It’s a snapshot in time showing who should be where and doing what.
Again, you don’t move up as a centre half and leave a massive gap in what is the most dangerous part of the box. It’s suicidal. You learn very early on in that position that you don’t always need to be marking someone. It’s that kind of poor decision making that gets exploited by any attacking player with half a brain
edit: the point about Pogba picking up Burke: maybe. But then he needs to tell Bruno to fill in and stay goal side of the player on the edge of the box (who at that point is blind side of Bruno so it’s not an ideal switch to be making). But anyway this comes back to communication, and where I drew that orange box around the area that’s the main problem.
I’m not saying Tuan should be running out of there, I’m saying he should be much closer to the space in front of the near post. Pogba is doing nothing. Martial lol
Yes Maguire and De Gea make a mess, but look at this crap:
At the end of the day he can’t have all that real estate ahead of him, he could’ve picked either foot for the job.
Edit: ^ Absolutely. Pogba is right there, needs to move. How was Bruno supposed to teleport himself in front of Burke???

That's what I'm saying too. Bungle says that leaving your line as a defender is suicidal and you learn early on not to do it, while I don't disagree, not stepping up to the space to block a runner with a clear angle at literally the post you are meant to be covering is just as suicidal, and it resulted in a goal as well.
Pogba likely doesn't have the presence of mind to drop in between the CBs as he should and point to Bruno to cover the edge of the area (because Pogba is a clear aerial presence while Bruno isn't a box defender), but that's only because Matic is chasing down his man to the edge of the box because of a bad back pass and a worse clearance. And the reason Telles is split between two men is likely because Ole has made it so the FBs tuck in and leave the wide spaces to the midfielders. We've seen that more than two times this season already when we've conceded because Shaw follows his man to the opposite flank.
Pinning it on Bruno not chasing down the guy is the wrong way to look at it. Axel has been very bad with his positional awareness the two times he has started, pains me to say it. He doesn't look ready, and how can he be when he's barely fit.

I don’t see you lot reading the situation correctly
I already said like three time Tuanzebe should be further across but the problem he has is that Telles isn’t further across as well (which is because he’s running between two different players, so he doesn’t get into the right position).
Martial is covering 16 (Cavani hadn’t arrived at that point). Pogba is occupying the penalty spot with an eye on the player on the edge of the box. Rashford like Cavani arrives late and isn’t really part of the equation because he shouldn’t really be there.
Go back and watch the clip and you can see how long Bruno is stood there pacing around before he’s alert to the danger. And if you’re thinking he should be on the bloke on the end of the box, he’s not covering him at any point during the sequence so he’s not doing that job. And nor should he be because the player on the penalty spot needs to be the one to get out if the ball comes that way.
edit: Also the suggestion that Pogba should drop into the back line so that Tuanzebe can then step out of it... this is where you should be saying it’s not chess. Again watch Bruno’s position and then tell me what exactly he’s doing before we start saying who should be where.

With Mandragora in pole position, Lerager has moved into second place for Torino's midfield. The Genoa midfielder could now move to Copenhagen on a €500,000 loan with a mandatory buy-back at €3.5m.
Just the obligation could make the difference. With Torino, in fact, the operation had not taken off for this reason: the Granata would have closed only with a right of redemption. Different the proposal of the Danes, who could close for the redblue player.
