It flew by. Even my wife who doesn't watch this shit liked it and sat there with me til 1:30am lol
Don't get me wrong, there's easily an hour of content for a theatrical release that can be cut from this, but it wasn't a slog.

Half last night, half this morning.
DY's probably gonna go back to watching 4 seasons of some C-tier anime that's probably well over 40 hours of content

im really trying to process how some of yal can hate capeshit that ain't even doing anything but existing whenever the stillness of the wind strikes you a certain way but then immediately sit down for a four hour snyder movie
Because it was free with my HBO subscription during a pandemic and it didn't involve a 5th Spider-Man movie appearance in 3 years.
I think this is my first cape movie since Endgame, so it's been a full 2 years.

By sy Go To Postmcu stans hurtif you enjoyed this on spankbang mobile 240p during bathroom breaks at work then maybe its worth a spin
Mens been doing the groundwork for weeks now just so they could conclude "better than MCU". It's like the only reason they watch these films apparently. If you can't enjoy shit without using it to shit on other stuff, maybe you don't really enjoy KINO that much.
By reilo Go To PostAlso, it wasn't just Cyborg. They took out ALL of the diversity in this one. There were many more minority characters that had appearances that were just cut that actually added to the plot in important ways.
To be honest. I thought a lot of it could be cut and trimmed. The Flash job application sequence could be cut. Quite a bit of the Star Labs stuff. Where I do scream foul and fuck Whedon though - the Superman entrance.
Snyder cut: Steppenwolf swings with his axe at Cyborg, Superman entrance - takes the axe hit, starts beating up bad guy.
Whedon cut: Steppenwolf swings - hacks cyborg's arm off and does this:
Then Superman appears and starts beating the bad guy.
That scene serves no other purpose than to shit on the character or actor. It's pure unfiltered celluloid vitriol. And that red flag is basically the confirmation to me for the rest of the racist fucking behaviour of the producer's and Whedon.
Just finished Aquaman its on Prime.
Very good, Momoa is pretty fun if a bit goofy at times - they laying the marvel "humour" thing on pretty thick.
But the action is pretty great. Shame Amber Heard is a dickhead irl.

Amazed to say I actually kinda enjoyed ZSJL. It's certainly many hundreds of times better than Whedon's.
ive never seen the whedon cut but the snyder cut is a competent and coherent movie except for those last 5 minutes where he just can't resist to set up evil superman againstill dunno how much of that is because he was allowed to make a 4 hour movie, wonder how an actual theatical cut by snyder would be
By sy Go To PostLike Kristen Stewart, Gal Gadot can't act to save her life. yall really watching two entire movies with her in a leading role? Why is Wonder Woman so skinny?

30m into snyder cut. This is a lotta slo mo mane :/
Whoa whoa Kristen bae can act
the opening fight scene in Aquaman is better than every action scene in the MCU and Justice Leaegue.
Justice League makes me think Snyder wasn't in charge of the action scenes for Man of Steel.

It's very good by superhero film standards. Will probably watch Justice League in two sittings.
65% on rotten tomatoes, Dr strange got 89%
Not having it.

Yeah, I really enjoyed Aquaman, maybe more than any MCU. It’s probably because some of its trappings are so inspired by the Greek/Roman aesthetic, but it’s as close as any of these films have come to actually aping the new American mythology that they always strive for.
Just some batshit stunning visuals in this film. Absolutely unapologetically mad. I see people stanning Endgame visuals often but some of the compositions in here alone show how interesting these films can be visually when you hire a director and don’t make them adhere to in house style; the bit where they dive into the sea with the flares followed by the trench monsters looks leagues above anything MCU.
Feels like all the praise that went to Ragnarok should have come here instead. The Kidman action scene at the start was great, the Black Manta costume was great, the fuckin dinosaurs were great. Very fun.
Amber Heard super wooden tho. But super fine.

Yup, as a MCU Stan, gotta give Aquaman its props. Fairly certain it's DC's highest rated film and deserved. Its really good throughout unlike WW and MOS which fall apart at the end and BVS which never really came together. Should have given the keys to the DC Kingdom to James Wan.
Aquaman took the levity from MCU formula but totally makes it its own thing (great scene at the start in the bar with the bikers) and is unencumbered by being tied to a larger overarching megaplot that it has to adhere to.
Needed more Defoe and Lundren. But fuck it, everyone in it was good by superhero standard.
As for the visuals, there are some great bits in it as mentioned above with the flares. Ragnarok had a similar one like the Valkyries battle with Hela. Pure comic book distillery shit right there.

Talking bout 4 hours. Just recently found out that Once upon a time in America, which also has a runtime of 4 hours was released in a basterdized Hollywood editing and rearranged Leone's vision which was based around flashback into a chronological story. I don't remember much of the movie but I do remember I never wanted to see it again.
#releasethesergioleonecut
Edit: ok scratch that. I saw the euro version not the US theatrical. The new DC is only 20 minutes longer.
Finished chapters 1-3
I dunno guys there’s still too much trash action in this. I did like the WW bank scene but everything in Themiscyra can fuck off. Steppenwolf all time bad level of design. Gadot can’t act, Affleck is disinterested. Cyborg bits have been good so far and there’s been a few lovely poignant bits (one or two with Lois Lane have been nice - that Nick Cave needledrop brehs), but it’s still not very good. Watchable, and held my attention enough for 1hr46m but it’s just bog standard stuff for thr most part.

think the first hour and some is painfully uninteresting, once cyborg and flash hit the scene it's when it gets good

I watched King of Staten Island last night. Not sure what to make of it. I think maybe I just don't like Judd Apatow, as all of his moves are like half an hour too long.
Absolutely hated that opening Aquaman fight scene. Almost made me switch the film off.
At the same time I can see why people like it...

aquaman is probably my fav superhero movie, but it's only really because of the visuals. anything out of water was boring af.
