It is gud.
Was the allegory a bit heavy? I don't know.

I find the issue of the weight of allegories to be a bit fudged tbqh, especially when it's a piece that's been around for a while and referenced.
By Cleff Go To PostMight be interesting if he hams it up ala Paddington 2. I'm a big DnD fan but I justst can't see the film being any good. Its core mechanics don't translate to the screen. Get Matt Mercer to narrate or something.
Old dnd movie was 10/10 good bad

They’re genuinely great. Funny, heartwarming, great performances, some beautiful filmmaking. The second one in particular is a sensational movie.
By DY_nasty Go To PostWho cares, we have Resident Evil lady now.

Man, Coming 2 America is rough.
They tried to do a Ghostbusters 2 but failed even at that.
5/10
I'm going to watch the first one again to purge this.

I watched the first one a couple of weeks ago and it holds up great. It actually annoys me that the plotline to the sequel is that Akeem had a child sometime during his first Queens trip when the running gag was for him to spread his seed but he refused to do so because he wanted to save himself for his true love.

But there are some bright spots but not enough, I was hoping after Dolemite this was going to be another success.
coming 2 america: some of the barbershop bits made me smile, but the rest is really, really bad. what's even worse is the way this film looks. everything takes place on a set or in front of a green screen--and it's done so badly, it looks like this was the director and dop's first ever film. avoid at all costs, and watch the original instead.
