By bud Go To Postthis makes me happy.I know spider-man 2 is highly rated but it didn't do much for me to be honest, I can see why it's so beloved though.
spider-man 2 is a classic.
speaking of classics: just finished a rewatch of the matrix. first time in about fifteen years.
the fight choreography is a bit slow and too choreographed, but other than that, it still holds up wonderfully well.
also, exposition done right.
what a film.
Watched Spider Man 1 tonight in 4K. Fun movie but time hasn't been kind to it. Some of the acting is terrible, mostly from Durst and Franco.
I like how brutal the final fight is, Defoe is fantastic and his costume is great, the way the helmet has a purple reflection on light as a reference to his purple hood is brilliant.
It made want to read some old Spider Man comics.

Hey guys the Matrix is now woke and has been ruined by liberal commies
Yes, the Matrix, a franchise literally about waking up and breaking free from the machine.
Yes, the Matrix, a franchise literally about waking up and breaking free from the machine.
Guess the Matrix is heavily associated with more of a punk style rage against the machine killing in the name of type of wokeism, but some people out there acting like Ru Paul is playing Morpheus.
Spider-Man overtook The Force Awakens and it's now the second biggest opening day in the US with 121.5M$.
By the end of the weekend, it will become the top domestic movie of 2021.
Big budget movies will continue to flourish at the box office in a post COVID but more mature movies seem like they are going to have an hard time, at least for a while.
I think that was something that was already happening before but COVID rushed it.
Big event movies are still a must see on cinemas (even Dune did better than I expected pre COVID) but people are more than happy to wait to see the rest at home.

By bud Go To Postwish i could've seen spider-man in the cinemas before the lockdown.I am only seeing it on the week from January 6th to 10th, cinema is closed next week and the following week is West Side Story.
By LeonidDikapriovLung Go To PostFinally watched Raw, after liking Titane. Hungry as fuck nowDid you like it? I thought it was pretty good. Have yet to watch Titane.
I really liked it yeah. Can't decide if i liked that or titane better. This somehow felt more messed up, even though logically thinking about it titane is certainly a bit more out there.
But both good.
But both good.
Batman is the most anticipated movie of 2022, it also helps that the MCU slate for 2022 is pretty lackluster.
By bud Go To Postthis makes me happy. You know what, I'm skipping Spider-man tomorrow night. Sticking with The Matrix on Wednesday.

By s y hulud Go To Postim not so confident. those apes movies kinda sucked. pattinson sounded awful in the trailer too.
finally watched dune. liked Dune. Yet when I had a peep on the ol' letterboxd to give my four star approval I saw a review saying something like "not feeling a single emotion for 2 and a half hours" and you know... they're right. Who gave a shit when anything happened to anyone?? Very much felt like a quarter of a story which I imagine isn't far from the truth. Give me Rendezvous with Rama (great book, will make a great film) asap Villeneuve.
Also watched Benedetta. Strange film... first half kind of feels like some weird comedy (her dreams really reminded me of the bits of Extras that depict the show/film being filmed and they're always OTT and silly) but then it becomes very serious. But just not really good enough to be anything other than ok. Even with all the tits.
Also the two main characters have their hair styled, washed and dyed like it's 2021 and it made the film feel really cheap. Honestly... one of those films where you feel like the director has takes stashed away for himself to have a wank over later.

You don't deserve part 2 of dune.. Or reindeer with rama or whatever. You deserve more rise of the skywalker
Goodnight
Worldwide is probably going to slow down a ton as there might be a lot of restrictions in European countries.
By Punished* Go To PostIn a just world, Titane would've had the $587m opening weekend.
Speaking the truth.
Looks disappointingly generic compared to his previous works.
Can't blame eggers for wanting a big payday

Looks like an Eggers film to me, just on a bigger scale. Very visually identifiable as him imo, even if the core story (revenge flick) isn't quite what you'd expect from him
By Perfect Blue Go To PostYeah they’ve really flooded the market with 10th century Icelandic epics, so generic
just a remake of god of war m8

Absolutely sick of them. They're just copying Marvel's Thor movies.
