just looked up his age, he's even older than boomers 😂
By Perfect Blue Go To PostYeah, weren’t my thing because of the gore and violence. :( I Saw The Devil, though, had unreal cinematography and music. So fucking good.I have! I remember the pacing being not that great tbf and it was quite a drag. Close to 3 hours long if I remember correctly.
Have you seen The Yellow Sea? Been meaning to watch that for ages but oddly not available in Canada.
Certainly thought the Chaser was much better.
Houses of Gucci was alright. Gaga was great and it’s worth watching just to see Al Pacino yell like only Al can.
By RATHasReturned Go To PostScorsese made West Side Story?
By Perfect Blue Go To PostI’ll take Spielberg over Scorsese tbh
Probably even the Coens over Scorsese
This is blatantly just baiting n8 to post a list. Horrible. Don't do this.
Watched First Reformed. That was great. 4.5/10
Sounds like something that TERRORIST FAMILY would do.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
By FortuneFaded Go To PostDidn’t n8 put Infinity War in his top 10 films of all time?

By FortuneFaded Go To PostDidn’t n8 put Infinity War in his top 10 films of all time?In N8s defence, Infinity War is a tight and surprisingly well paced film when you consider all the stuff it throws at you.
I fucking hate Infinity War. Anti-cinema.
I prefer Scorsese but love all three. No quibbling brotherman.

By Hytch Go To PostInfinity War is the only MCU film that I think is really good tbh
Genuinely think it’s dogshit.
Scorsese is still putting out incredible movies late in his career. Not fucking sure wtf Spielberg doing last fifteen years. Munich was his last great movie. Haven't seen Lincoln. Bridge of Spies was ok. Haven't seen The Post, but that looked zzz.

I thought Lincoln was great. The exact opposite of some dry biopic shit. Moves like hell.
Liked BoS too. Post is decent. Justice for Tintin.
That's exactly why I avoided Lincoln thinking it was going to be dry biopic. I guess I should check it out then.

Bridge of Spies was ok. Haven't seen The Post, but that looked zzz.Which late Scorsese films are you referring to? Because going through the list I don’t see anything worthy of being called incredible. There’s some good ones but certainly not incomparable to Spielberg’s output and I would say Spielberg’s output of the last 20-30 years is better than Scorsese’s. I would probably take Marty’s 70s and 80s output over Spielberg, though.
By Hytch Go To PostInfinity War is the only MCU film that I think is really good tbhInfinity War & Endgame were great, best Marvel put out.
But it's also because they have 25 movies worth of setup for it.

By SavageGordonLung Go To PostStill fuming over Tintin. How can you call the dog snowy smh. English animalsThe worst.
By reilo Go To PostWolf of Wall Street alone is better than anything Spielberg has done – or dared to do – in twenty-five years. Not even the best film with DiCaprio between the two of them - that’s Catch Me If You Can.
Also, Killers of the Flower Moon and a Jerry Garcia biopic? Marty you dog.
Plus, ask yourself, who is Leo still working with? Not Spielberg.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostNot even the best film with DiCaprio between the two of them - that’s Catch Me If You Can.Uhuh, so you gotta go back 20+ years for that argument, which is my entire point.
By DiPro Go To PostI forgot Spielberg made Ready Player One lol. I guess it's because it makes no sense.I’m still amazed he managed to make this film watchable. Some cool effects and scenes in it but yeah, wtf. I appreciate he’s moving between genres for the fun of it.
Ditto with Scorsese, I thought Hugo was beautiful and an amazing love letter to cinema.
By reilo Go To PostUhuh, so you gotta go back 20+ years for that argument, which is my entire point.I don’t care for the arbitrary cutoffs you’re proposing because in that case neither Spielberg nor Scorsese are in the running for best living American director. There’s at least five since the turn of the century I could name that are better. It’s clear the original tweet meant their entire body of work.
I still don't agree on that point, either. Scorsese's work just feels more expansive to me and he's avoided the franchise trap at least.
By SavageGordonLung Go To PostSounds like something that TERRORIST FAMILY would do.

fucking hell dean

By Laboured Go To PostCan't we all just agree that everything is good (apart from Venom)?I liked Venom 2
I’m not the person to ask on Scorsese because I’m a blind fanboy cunt, but I think each of his last 3 movies are masterpieces
I havent watched that many of his films, but I liked them for the most part. Only one that I really didnt care for was Shutter Island.
