Ridiculous thing to say.
Still have the last 15 minutes in The Harder They Fall but I really enjoyed the movie. Red Dead 3 needs to be like this and then I’ll buy it
By Lupercal Go To PostJust bring back Killmonger under Multiverse shenanigans.Idk how someone hasn’t thought of this
You’ll bring back Toby McGuire but not MBJ?
I would love a world where this is not mediocre
Essentially, the pitch calls for the duo to play brothers in a Lethal Weapon-esque buddy cop comedy likely to shoot in Hawaii. The stampede to get the duo began with an August 19 Tweet by Bautista: “Just going to throw this out into the atmosphere and see what happens. Here we go…Me and Momoa in a Lethal Weapon type buddy cop movie directed by David Leitch. Ok! There it is. Now we wait.”
By Laboured Go To PostAlec Baldwin has looked better.
I refuse to believe this is real
No joke, if you told me that was a 4chan photoshop of Kyle Rittenhouse as the joker, I would believe you

I'm watching this fuck bond and Dune lol
Finally saw Captain Marvel because it's one of the movies that is IMAX Enhanced on Disney +.
It was fun, not top tier Marvel but I was entertained for 2h.
Also helps that I really like Brie Larson.
The IMAX scenes were cool, hopefully we can get more of this in streaming services.
Speaking of the MCU, Doctor Strange 2 is going to to have 6 weeks of reshoots.
Reshoots are normal but 6 weeks worth of a movie that is probably very CGI heavy seems a bit much.
Rumors have been flying around that it tested poorly in the test screenings for Disney employees.

Watched Shang Chi. It's just thoroughly mediocre. Feels like even the Marvel structure, where you know you'll get something vaguely entertaining, even if it's utterly derivative, is starting to wear thin. Black Widow was pretty poor and even though I've not watched The Eternals, it's getting bad reviews.
The first act was decent. I enjoyed the tribute to the Wuxia fighting style and the stuff in San Francisco. But everything after the underground fighting ring in Macau was straight out of the standard Marvel playbook and not the slightest bit entertaining. Felt like I've seen it a dozen times before. And for a movie about martial arts we didn't actually get that much of it. Went down the usual final third is a CGI fest route. And even by Marvels standards it was particularly boring.
Movie would have been better if it focused on the underground fight scene between the monsters and those with super powers. Instead we got conflict between Shang Chi and his dumbass father. Lived a thousand years and was fooled by someone pretending to be his dead wife. Fuck off.

Last Night At Soho is going to VOD next week. Very interested although pretty much everyone says it's Wright's worse movie.

Wright's trajectory has been a bit sad.
Appreciate that he obviously wanted to branch out of geeky comedy after Spaced/Shaun/Hot Fuzz/Scott Pilgrim but... it's his strength. Great streak tho. World's End was ok but missed the magic of their first two films.
Baby Driver was shite.
PTA marathon I swear to god
I've only seen There Will Be Blood and Phantom Thread
Who's seen Hard Eight? gonna be a weird one to start with

Hard Eight is a good watch but very obviously a lesser work. Very goof performance from Baker Hall.
Think my favourite is Phantom Thread. So beautiful to look at and just so fucking funny.

By s y hulud Go To PostSpeaking of PTA, Seymour Hoffman and day Lewis are two of the most overrated actors ever.mods
Daniel Day Lewis without his 'method acting™' PR campaigns wins maybe one oscar.
Didn't even call them bad or not great, the reponse from you guys only validates my post further.

Day Lewis is remarkable in both his PTA movies. That alone is pantheon worthy let alone In the Name of the Father, Gangs of New York, The Age of Innocence… and I haven’t even mentioned My Left Foot!

He's fantastic in The Crucible(his best performance imo), Phantom Thread and TWBB. Gangs of New York? he's....decent.
The way he's revered as some god of acting is Premiere League levels of overhype.
