But how bad is it really?
Anybody seen it already? After Black Widow, Avengers 2, Thor 1/2 and Iron Man 2 I don't believe it can be that much worse than those older stinkers. Just maybe even less charismatic considering the completely new cast of Eternals.

I'm sorta tempted to see Eternals* later since I've nothing better to do but Jesus it's 2.5 hours.
*I had totally sworn off superhero movies but since I get unlimited tickets with my cinema sub I've been going to them

By Perfect Blue Go To PostHaven’t seen a marvel film period since the first guardians of the galaxy
A true kinosseur. Bet you’ve watched Zack Snyder’s Justice League thrice.
Gf and I watched It 2 this week. Bunch of shit. Pennywise’s powers are so ill defined. Not scary at all. I jumped more in an episode of what we do in the shadows.
Hader was good though.
I thought the Eternals was no different from any other Marvel film, in quality or form. Your bog standard Marvel film except a few scenes in golden hour light (and a montage at the end of the film, in golden hour light and handheld cameras to remind you she's an indie auteur), and the characters still go "well…that just happened." For real though, you wouldn't know that this was not directed by one of those directors that Disney grow in a lab somewhere. I've never seen a Zhao film before I'll admit.
Still, it was cool to see the Silver Surfer and Galactus pop up.

nah this shit was more boring than thor 2 with people acting below CW show quality and more dumbass transistions than WW84
it made Captain Marvel look like Die Hard 2 or something. super ass

So I watched the Keanu Reeves sci-fi film Replicas from 2018 which recently dropped on Netflix.
Amazingly stupid.
Amazingly stupid.
Watched the 229 min version of Once Upon A Time In America last night.
What a film lads
Uncomfortably hard to watch at times but it's an epic achievement of #kino.

Just watched Dune on HBO Max. Yes, the film is fantastic. Love a good sci-fi story mixed with political intrigue and some betrayal mixed in that keeps you guessing. Bring on part two.

It does, and I think it’s because he put on way too much muscle. The ladies loved it but I always thought his Superman looked off because of how big he got.
The warehouse scene in BvS is miles better than any fight scene in The Dark Knight trilogy.
Film is still shite mind.

Just watched The French Dispatch
Love it, probably top 3 Wes Anderson movies.
Although the big actors just felt like they were all collated just because of their names as none of them really stood out at, maybe except for McDermond. She is always fantastic.
Aldo Lea Sedoux live to get naked inmost movies she in huh?

Tried watching Grand Budapest Hotel, the style just annoyed me. Same goes for the one about the boy scout that I can't remember the name of.

By FligureSkatingFlan Go To PostBegone to the gaming thread, you cretins.Only really enjoyed Fantastic Mr. Fox of what I’ve seen. Moonrise Kingdom and Grand Budapest Hotel were okay, Isle of Dogs and Darjeeling Limited are orientalist tripe.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostIsle of Dogs and Darjeeling Limited are orientalist tripe.Every culture in a Wes Anderson film is presented in an exaggerated and consciously artificial way. You might hate the consistent aesthetic, and you might find it problematic because he doesn’t ethnically correspond to the locations he uses, but let’s not pretend that he’s using perfect realism to represent white people and their cultural milieux, while using caricatures for everyone else. Besides, most of the irony in the Darjeeling Limited comes at the expense of the brothers’ exoticization and mysticization of their experiences.
You realize you can watch a movie with more than Film Studies 101 running through your brain, right?

Not even getting into the white saviour and weeaboo-esque depiction of Japanese culture that exists in Isle of Dogs.

Like, I get everything you’re saying here I just don’t enjoy the films. More power to you if you enjoy them m8, it’s a not a big deal. I’m sure you dislike a lot of the stuff I like. 🤷🏻♂️
