By Perfect Blue Go To PostAlways wanted to try snowboarding - only know how to ski. My pops was hardcore into it and got my brother and I into skiing.Try it man it's such a sublime experience. It's easier than skiing.
By Lunatic Go To PostYea man it is not a cheap recreation. But getting a board that matches your height makes a big difference, What is your stance? Also how is the flex on your board?Neutral +15/0
Regular stance
Actually not sure about the flex. My buddy didnt mention that 🤔. I’d imagine it’s something favorable for tricks though because he’s pretty damn good
By Lunatic Go To PostTry it man it's such a sublime experience. It's easier than skiing.Word? All my ski instructors said opposite lol.
By domino Go To PostNeutral +15/0Yep flex is for tricks and if you are really good at it you can move on flat ground like skiers by pumping the board. I changed my stance to goofy and it was so much easier to ride switch. You also catch less edges.

By diehard Go To PostAnyone ever just start contemplating death and subsequent eternal lack of consciousness and get a an overwhelming sense of dread right before you were about to go to sleep? Hopefully just me.Yes. And it’s fascinating in that I can’t imagine what death would be like. Anything that does come to mind is just somebody’s idea or concept I’ve read or heard on the subject. Even “subsequent eternal lack of consciousness” is just an idea in your thoughts of what you think death may be like but you don’t really know and who is to say you will be you when you die to experience “subsequent eternal lack of consciousness”. Who knows really. Fun thought experiment though.
Anyone using any password managers? I'm using LastPass and the password monitoring feature most of these apps use, used to be free but I notice now it's behind a premium sub. It's only $3 a month for a premium sub but it used to be free so I'm not sure why I would pay for a feature I used to get without paying
1Password should still be free if you manage your own vault e.g. sync it to your Dropbox/etc
I like it a lot better than LastPass.

I'm the kind of person who brushes their teeth after every meal, uses mouthwash twice a day, and I also use a water pik flosser. I usually go to the dentist twice a year for regular cleanings and last year I continued to go both times, but this year the covid numbers are worse than ever and I'm considering skipping next month and then just resuming in August. Plus, the UK-variant of the virus has been identified here in my county as well. Skipping just once shouldn't be a big deal when I never have any cavities or anything anyway, right?
Last year my sister caught covid and we think it was due to just going to get her hair done somewhere, so now I'm even more paranoid.

Constantly say that the air conditioners don’t need either a) always be working b) working for hours on end because you fell asleep c) be always pumped up to the point where it feels like summer in the house, but in the end get to share the blame when the bill is over 220€.
Give me strength.

I also recommend getting a proper electric toothbrush. It really helps with tartar buildup.
Dentist is most likely safe but if you're only going for a cleaning then you can just delay your visit.
My dentist would take your temp then have you wash your mouth with peroxide. Also had to call when you arrive and they would let you know when you're able to come in and proceed with your appointment. Ofc the dentists and everybody else are masked and gloved up.
My dentist experience was like Smokey's. I felt safer at the dentist than I would going to a Target, but I also wouldn't blame anybody for not going.
Skipping one cleaning isn't going to kill you. I went a lot longer than six months between visits before because I was broke and didn't have dental insurance, and my teeth were generally fine because I flossed and brushed regularly.

Dentist was a fine experience. Honestly didnt even cross my mind to maybe not go. I get antsy about missing appointments though because I hate that feel of licking your teeth when its close to cleaning time.
Had a ton of fun though. I gotta learn how to not fall on my hands because my right wrist is killing me.
Also I wish I knew it was normal to wear basketball/football jerseys on the slopes.

Especially my legs. My only workout back then was to go play basketball a couple hours a day.

By Kibner Go To PostFalling down safely is one of the most important skills to learn in life, imo.Too late
Any of y'all wear thomson tees or shit like that ? I don't sweat that much from physical activity but I get bad anxiety sweat at work sometimes and it's a shit combination with a dress shirt

Definitely, even more when you play a sport like Football. My big injuries always happened when I tried to stay up instead of hitting the grass.

that's the thing. black people in the US still get to have the discussion.

By DY_nasty Go To PostlolNot going lie it's kind of great now that it's actually able to be talked about in the open and people actually listen. I've noticed a change after George Floyd. When it used to just be something that was shrugged off or you felt that you couldn't bring it up without pushback. As shitty as that is.
that's the thing. black people in the US still get to have the discussion.
american racism is some of the easiest racism in the world to talk about though. now that its packaged and clearly marked, it sells better than ever.
For sure it's definitely delivered to people's TV in a refined way that returns high viewership. And everyone reporting on it doesn't actually care about the issue but about how it creates engagement or time on page so that they can sell ads and data.
By Daz Go To PostAnyone else got fuck ton of podcasts just piled up because youre not commuting anymore?100%
Pared down my list of podcasts to about 3 that I listen to while playing certain games, but things that were a bit more of an involved listen are just gone for now
i def listen to way more podcasts than before. nice to just have on in the background anytime i'm not watching a show or movie. idgaf about sports commentary all the time.
I listen to podcasts all the time, also now when not commuting. Making dinner, taking a shower, falling asleep, playing football manager... unless there is football on or i want to listen to music, i usually listen to a podcast therew
what are your favorites?
The only ones that are reliable good I can count on two fingers. Reply All and Radiolab.

Last podcast on the left was my favorite, probably still is overall. But it has gone down in quality after being bought out by Spotify. Their old podcast Roundtable of gentlemen is another one, involving many of the same people, that is a favorite of mine. That one was consistently good, but ended a few years ago.
Designer Notes is great for some insight into vidya, got some really cool guests on and goes through the games they have been involved with and so on.
Smashin security is mostly security related (talking about recent hacks and so on) but somehow is great fun despite the boring subject.
Also Hardcore History is a GOAT, but it comes out like twice a year at this point. So much good stuff there though, lots of old episodes of amazing history talk.

I enjoy last podcast on the left but I can never really listen to a whole series. By the end of the first episode into a killer, theyre already forcing the jokes and half the time ben just sounds like an asshole.
I'll check out smashing security when I'm in the gulag today.

If you think Ben is an asshole on there, you should have heard him on the old podcasts when he was drunk all the time. Amazing he can even get drunk, considering the size of that fucking beast. Holden McNeely though, what a guy. He would get so fucking mean sometimes. But mostly it's just good fun.

mostly just a bunch of comedy shit outside of sports
Bill Burr Monday Morning Podcast
Bodega Boys (Desus and Mero, imagine the Vice show specifically but an hour+ twice a week)
Brilliant Idiots (Charlamagne and Andrew Schultz)
Chapo Trap House (whiny lib politics show. it was funny to hear them just lose all reason in 2020 cause Bernie lost again)
Joe Budden Pod (usually a fun listen although the last 4 months or so have been dry since they don't have anymore contract drama to talk about and the music industry has slowed down)
in sports
Ringer NBA (only the eps w/ Logan and Raja Bell, i hate the rest of their NBA team)
Ringer FC (so this one is actually 2 shows. one is w/ Arsenal legend Ian Wright, the other is with a writer Musa Okongwa. sometimes they'll join up. really good series)
The Right Time w/ Bomani Jones (sports w/ a heavy race/politics spin)
Laker Film Room
No Chill Podcast w/ Gilbert Arenas (Gil hands down the best former player voice in the sport rn. It's laughable how much better he is than anyone else)
All The Smoke (SJax and Matt Barnes. I enjoy how much they get out of their guests)
