He's gonna have to deal with the same humid summers as Houston but brutal snowy winters. Not to mention you better not be timid driving a car there lol.
By aka Espi Go To PostOur heat actually works though. You’ll be good Smokelol ijs
Worst shit about NY during non-summer months is one day it’s nice out and the next day it feels like January. Plus the rain. Every other day is rain.
By Lunatic Go To PostThose winters too whew. Smokey almost died when Texas got some snow.If he dresses for the weather he'll be fine. Always found that's the worst thing, MFers don't know how to dress properly for the cold.
All my friends from abroad think Canadians are walking around in t-shirts and shorts in the winter... I wear like five layers of heavy duty stuff.

A fellow New Yorker, thanks breh
By Perfect Blue Go To PostIf he dresses for the weather he'll be fine. Always found that's the worst thing, MFers don't know how to dress properly for the cold.I'm not even talking about that, that part is easy. Smokey like me just aren't built for winters. In the words of ole billy goat Burr, we are equator people. Those winter blues hit hard breh.

Winter fucking blows don't get me wrong, but he'll be fine. NYC ain't that bad, not like dude is going to Alaska.

As someone who is easily cold and moved to a colder climate some tips:
scarves are now your friend
get a comfy ass beanie, i like these (totally understand if you're not into beanies)
outdoor and indoor slippers make dealing with the cold easier if you're just stepping out for a reason and got hardwood/laminate/tiled anything
well fitted layers are better than tons of shit ones that allow air in
pajama pants might need to be on the menu if your house is drafty, same with sweatshirts
get a good pair of fucking boots (or more than one really)
like and subscribe for more

It's different though going from "what is below 60" and what is pervasive snow to "oh fuck I don't have the clothes to handle this bullshit right now."

In humidity, if there are no AC units nearby... You're fucked.

By Fenderputty Go To PostThe further north you go the worse the seasons are with the day / night shifts too.Not in the PNW. Pretty mild generally relatively speaking. Maybe a few days in the high 20’s but not bitter cold. And damn as much as Singapore is a cool place to visit and expensive, 100% high heat/humidity all year round sounds rough. 😰

It tripped me out when I was in Seattle. When the time change debates comes up and people complain they’ll be waking up In the dark at 9am I’m like waaaah? Then I remind myself most of the US is further north

I remember the longest of summer days in northern Germany lasting til 10:00pm
Just checked and yea, lived on the 51st parallel. Seattle is on the 47th.
