By DY_nasty Go To PostCats will break things simply to remind you that they canIts 5.50am and I just got up to go for a piss, followed by the cat thinking I'm going to feed her now.
Just barged my bedroom door open and sitting there, purring loud af and staring at me. As soon as I fall asleep again, she's going to jump up on the bed and start twatting me in the face

Gave my little sister (my favourite sibling) some AirPod Pros today as my Christmas present and she was so happy ☺️ I was thinking maybe she had some already which she did but not the pros and she had lost one ear piece and just to see her face when I gave it to her brightened up my day. Still on cloud nine 🥰
Had a panic attack last night. Woke up for work feeling like shit. Drove down to my regular gas station to get an energy drink. Gas station dude's first words are 'you look like shit'
Took that as a sign from God to call out

having an energy drink when you're having panic attacks doesn't seem like a good mix.
please don't do that again, data.
maybe talk to a psychologist?

nephew, it's an energy drink, not cocaine. probably never a good idea to drink that shit for your health, but yeah.

I actually wrote the same thing this morning but never submitted it. It’s been so ingrained into Americans that unless you’re literally dying, you should never call out.
lol I call out whenever I felt like it. even sy has run out of fake relatives to claim are dying

I call in sick so many times that I won't blame them if they fire me for being medically unfit tbh lmaooo
I hope everyone had a great day yesterday! It was the first Christmas I've ever had without my paternal grandparents. My granddad passed from Covid last January and my nan passed from organ failure in May.
Was hard for all the family as when I was a kid we went to them for Christmas breakfast every year. Aunts, uncles and cousins. Was like 20 of us in a small house, but it was great. When they got older and it became obvious they were no longer up for hosting, we went to our Aunts house, their daughters, for Christmas. Was great to see my grandparents in such a happy mood, just loving the time they were spending with the kids and grandkids.

Not even sure how I wasn’t even spoken to about my attendance.
Get you a government job brehs. Congress and washed NBA coaches can’t be the only ones who get paid not to work.
that 'essential worker' flim flam took massive chunks out of people's mental integrity
I can understand if you're under the blitzkrieg or something, but the last thing any service industry environment needed was a reason to make weareafamily even more demented

By Old King Rob Go To PostI actually wrote the same thing this morning but never submitted it. It’s been so ingrained into Americans that unless you’re literally dying, you should never call out.Americans got nothing on Japanese workers lol.
I feel most Americans don't call out because they cannot afford to call out.
Unlike Japan, where a large chunk of people have plenty of vacation days and healthcare but still go to work sick af..
The government actually had to pass laws to force people / companies to use their days off.
I remember when a coworker had flu-like symptoms and came to work just to show her boss that she was indeed sick and waited for him to say "you are too sick, go home."
But yeah, if you got paid days or can afford to call out.. do it, always.

I did have a former boss who came in trying to work while having brain bleeds and literally had to be told to go home. She's one of those I expect to get a text about her dropping dead at work.

It’s managements job to manage staff that’s why they’re called managers. It’s in their job title in case they forget (which they always seem to do)

Some of my coworkers haven't taken a day off in like a decade like this is some badge of honor. (If you never take time off, what exactly are you accruing the PTO for anyway?) I still call out, even with there being a substitute teacher shortage. My students will be fine without me for a day or two.
Thought I had a decent coworker squad at my first job till some shit hit fan then folks tried tossing me under the bus. From then on it was coworkers at an arm's length and making sure I had my ass covered in documentation and witnesses. I did that time too but I got illuminated on how quickly people shift blame. Just calmly told the lead what was up and how it could be solved in the future but shit wasn't the same after that.
