Finished Ghostrunner
overall that was a bit underwhelming, the momentum based combat is fun, not so much the nonsensical platforming throughout the game.
and what a way to end it, with an incredibly dumb VR level....but hey you could do worse with 30 bucks. It crashed quite of few times on PS4 Pro so don't bother with that version

Yeah I tried Ghostrunner briefly and... that's not for me. Which I could have guessed, since I didnt like mirrors edge all that much either
Much better than Mirrors Edge imo
Love these sort of games. I got pretty good at it, but some of the level times the big boy speed runners post are ridiculous. I could practice all day everyday and I wouldn’t even get close

Platforming was my favourite part, would've loved a hardcore mode focused purely on that. I tried it briefly with a joypad, but found it much more enjoyable and controllable with keeb + mouse.
I can’t imagine running through it with a controller. There’s a bit on the first level for instance where you need to shortcut bounce up and along a wall. But you won’t get the movement accuracy you need without a mouse

At E3 in June 2019, CD Projekt announced that the game would come out on April 16, 2020. Fans were elated, but internally, some members of the team could only scratch their heads, wondering how they could possibly finish the game by then. One person said they thought the date was a joke. Based on the team’s progress, they expected the game to be ready in 2022. Developers created memes about the game getting delayed, making bets on when it would happen. Based on the team’s progress, they expected the game to be ready in 2022."
Fans and journalists were wowed by Cyberpunk 2077’s ambition and scale. What they didn’t know was that the demo was almost entirely fake. CD Projekt hadn’t yet finalized and coded the underlying gameplay systems, which is why so many features, such as car ambushes, were missing from the final product. Developers said they felt like the demo was a waste of months that should have gone toward making the game.
Veteran devs from other companies were shocked at CDPR's free-for-all production. One example: if someone needed a shader, they'd make it, with no pipeline in place to determine whether someone had already made one w/ the same function
Still very much looking forward to playing CP2077 on PC after a couple of fat patches. The list of missing features is too long for me to believe they can deliver most of what was promised / shown / hinted at throughout the game's development, as it would likely take a couple of years and a special kind of commitment. I'll be happy with a higher level of polish and maybe a couple of added features here and there. #waiting
Thinking that everything will be ok cause you made the Witcher 3 but what if the Witcher 3 isn’t actually all that great?
By jjasper Go To PostThinking that everything will be ok cause you made the Witcher 3 but what if the Witcher 3 isn’t actually all that great?TW3 was under the eurojank category for a reason
think the issue here is the console versions weren't literally a generation apart lmao
Buggy and janky is very much CDPR, they spent like a year and a half trying to fix TW1 post release.
By Daz Go To Post"We made The Witcher 3…what could wrong?"i mean they weren't wrong really either lol
Maybe it's because I played it a couple of months after release, after they patched the horse movement and squashed most of / all the game breaking bugs, but I don't remember TW3 being that buggy and janky. No worse than other giant open world games of that era.

the quests were buggy as hell. The combat is still to this day, jank.
I remember maybe one or two side quests I couldn't complete for some reason. But again, I waited.
Either way, fantastic game, will go down in history as such, everything else is just noise from people who couldn't get into it at this point.

By Yurtlicious Go To Postwaiting for devs to fix their shit is such an odd proposition, a very much PC centric disease. Don't release it thenIdeally, sure, and I'm all for it. But if it were that simple, the gaming industry would be in a different place.
Buying a buggy / incomplete game at release and complaining about it on the internet hasn't deterred developers and publishers from this practice. Quite the opposite, it has emboldened them. Maybe not giving them money on day 1 when they don't deserve it would have an effect.
Waiting for somebody to fix their shit before you give them your time and your money is kind of the reasonable thing to do.
We'll see if this unprecedented refund-gate will gave industry-wide ramifications.
you could also argue that being okay with waiting emboldened them too. CDPR messed with the Crushers of gaming this time, big mistake.

after they fuck up the new mass effect, and people go 'was anthem really that bad?'
By Yurtlicious Go To Postyou could also argue that being okay with waiting emboldened them too.You could, but since all publishers care about is money and they get none of it until the game is fixed, you'd have a much harder time arguing it.
That's how you get back to your point. Just don't release it in a shitty state, then.
Anyway, it's all just empty talk at the end of the day. It will take a lot more than just one refund-gate to stop this bullshit.

You already forgot Cyberpunk?
Fallout 76 ... and also those fucking bethesda games with memory leaks in them, that made the games run at like 5fps after enough time played on ps3. Ass Creed Unity. Battlefield 4. Isnt this XIII Remake also fairly broken?
I just don't understand why CDPR didn't do the obvious thing: focused the release of CP2077 on PC. It's seemingly mostly good there, just needed polish (no pun intended).
It would have created even more hype for the console versions and they could have spent time getting the PS4/XB1 ready to go alongside the PS5/XSX versions.

This was the gen of the "We sworry" releases. No Man's Sky, Anthem, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Assassin's Creed, Drive Club, Destiny, Fallout, etc.

They also sell more on PC, it's where their biggest audience is. I guess desperation/greed to get that Christmas money, and then already having put a silly amount of money into ps4/xbox one versions which they realized too late would never be great. But even with their big sales (also after refunds), I would be surprised if that hasnt backfired quite a bit, for the new gen versions sales.
I highly doubt the sales would be any worse if they held off the release of the console versions to Spring compared to an anticipated holiday boon. It also doesn't make sense given the original release date (one of them at least) was last Spring and then summer anyhow! There holiday push made no sense unless they really wanted the sales included in the last fiscal year.
I'm sorry wooden I'm even slower than normal today
@reilo
should've gone TW2 route, they released a gimped version a year+ later on xbox.

By inky Go To PostGreed is most definitely the answer to every "why did devs do this" question.
let me introduce you to peter molyneux, where the answer is actually a none functioning brain.
I wonder if Director's cut/final cuts are viable for games. They get goty/definitive editions that have more content and all bug fixes on the disk but never really rework or address major issues with the game.
I guess gamers would react like you expect if removing content would make for a better product.
KH2 to KH2 final mix is pretty insane and closest that I know of to a 'director's cut'. It's damn near a remaster of vanilla kh2

Due to the "no exceptions refunds" I wonder if CDPR will end up losing money on last gen systems.
They're spending the next 6 months fixing those versions and the ps5/xsx ports are probably getting pushed back to 2022.
they couldve avoided a lot of the bad pr since pc players eat shit for breakfast.
could release the ps5/xsx versions on time, feature complete and without competition since everything else is getting delayed.
