By Kibner Go To PostYou would either have to get audio out from your receiver or display device, use a dac that accepts optical from one of those devices or the console, or get an hdmi audio splitter and feed that into a dac.3D audio is only supported via USB on the console or the 3.5mm jack on the controller currently. Add to that, the PS5 is fussy with USB DACs so currently that’s not an option.
My normal audio solution is HDMI to TV, 3.5mm (M-M) from to TV to amp, 3.5mm (headphones) into amp. It’s not clean, tad bit of interference can be heard at low volumes but otherwise it works well.
By post-sy Go To Postusboh yeah, class-2 usb dac's would also work, iirc

if you are getting that interference, do you have shielded cables? If so, you may be getting ground loop feedback and can use that something like that product I linked in the Audio Gear thread recent to get rid of it. It worked for my Switch, at least.

Yeah it’s something I’ve been looking into. Long term plan is getting an Atom DAC since it supports UAC1 and is compatible with the PS5, plus I have the amp to match already.
I figured it’s probably a ground loop causing the inference, I can only hear it if I’m past half way on the amp and have zero sound coming to the headphones. So it hasn’t bothered me enough yet to be concerned with.

Where you have to look for the vault key. It was there somewhere right next to an audio log! So keep an eye out for it on the map

I'f I'm following the house sequences correctly, Selene being a blend of the mom & Daughter and Returnal being a bullet hell because the daughter like Resogun and the other HM games, is some of the coolest shit ever tbh
Jaw was legit dropped during the house sequence where it transitioned into the daughter playing the PS5.]
top tier sci fi shit
By Hixx Go To PostTrain is the only map that is still ct sided and that's why they've taken it out so they can balance it to be this boring as fuck 50/50 map all the other ones are now.I used to like Cbble too ;_; I dunno if that's ruined now or not. The fun thing about Train is that it sets up some insane comebacks lol I remember we were losing 8-4 on TT in a tourney, switched to CT and won it 9-3! (yeah back then it was first to 13)
Saying that, Train sucks anyway. Only map worse than it in the pool now is Mirage and OH MY GOD it better be the next map they take out. It's so fucking ugly.
If only every map could be as good as Inferno and Cache. The two GOAT multiplayer maps.

There's a fight right at the end of Like a Dragon that takes for-fucking-ever and towards the end of it the boss can one hit kill you through Guard. It's bollocks. There's a hard counter but when you've stuck 15-20 mins into the most boring shit ever because you're expected to remember to use an ability you got 30 hours ago for the first time with no warning or hint… I turned it off and uninstalled lmao. Hope they ditch the turn based, it wasn't good.
@Yakuza, Fuck that sounds awful
sorry dp but
Wreckfest is up. What a bizarre choice....wouldn't this eat away from Destruction AllStars' crowd?

just got the 6th sun piece and killed the final boss no damage taken.
Now I need to go back to the house then kill the final boss again for the true ending. This would be tedious if the gameplay wasn't good and runs weren't quick.

Had a data cube I needed to deposit. Ophion is lowkey the easiest boss in the game, barely even dashed.
Speaking of multiplayer cosmetics, where the fuck is my Spectre arcana?
Will be genuinely annoyed if it's a pile of shite.

also, this is probably a better phoenix point than phoenix point. everything that game tried to do, this weebfest did better outside basebuilding xcomisms.

Yeah I went into that fight with 2 nasty malfunctions, absolutely no healing items and 3/4 health. This was in a run where I went through the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th biomes for the first time so I was 100% sure I was going to die (and not know what was coming after that...) but yeah....it was piss really. Especially after finding two large healing items in the room after the first phase.
Man, the game looks amazing on an OLED. The bullet hell stuff pops so much in HDR I have those moments every now and again, usually during a boss fight, where my entire screen is full of colourful enemy projectiles and I can't believe I'm playing a 3D big budget bullet hell

Thank you. the amount of people I had to hear say 'Yakuza needed a shakeup' and 'oh this is way better than a beat em up' drove me up the wall. Go play Persona. Leave my beat em up RPG alone.
Yakuza does need a shake up, but it needed a new location and characters. All it needed was to fine tune its combat. Keep the variety of Y0 but make it as smooth as Y6/Judgment.
Only thing that needed a complete rework are the boss fights.
meh I was done with yakuza combat by the time y7 launched. y7 was a welcome change, but I don't want any more of it. and there's nothing wrong with a one off departure. they'll probably switch back to real time combat but unless they significantly rework it not sure i can play more of that trash
By LabouredPatriot Go To PostDidn't it release late last week and most people here have seemingly already finished it?ok how do I word this without being memed for weeks by Dipro and Wooden
Sy, MonadL and Will are not most people, they're proper action boys.
sy died THREE times. Do you think most people would die just THREE times
but in all seriousness, it's 20-30 hours at the very least, and highly replayable, I'd say. For a TPS, that's very good.

Leave my beat em up RPG alone.Spot on on everything. There was a ridiculous amount of people with that nonsense. I know that the games got popular with 0 and a bunch of jRPG fans hoping on board but If I wanted to play Persona, I'd go play Persona. It seems that the story in LAD is the high point of the game anyway, so it's not like they ran out of characters and ideas. Just need to keep improving the combat and also bring back stuff that they kept adding up until 0 and Kiwami. Kiwami 2 and 6 were definitely missing the combat styles but with the engine change I gave them up a pass, wasn't expecting them to shit the bed so badly with LAD and go in a totally different direction because 'lol April's Fools'.

Seriously hope Judgement 2 isn't some LAD combat type crap. They have a nice base with the two styles there, just need to add more combos, refine it and definitely add more heat actions because the game does not have many. The pressure point thing is neat, but it lacks variety.
In the meantime they can finally bring Kenzan and Ishin to the West. Straight up ports would be alright, but if they do Kiwami style stuff then all the better. Wouldn't be upset if they make a 3rd one starring the new characters of LAD and release that instead either.

Cobble hasn't been in the active map pool for quite some time now, I think about 3 years.
And thank god for that. We were good at it, but it was such a boring map. Might as well only have had one bombsite.

What's the explanation for the protag being different in this version? The old burly dude seemed cooler.
By LabouredPatriot Go To PostWhat's the explanation for the protag being different in this version? The old burly dude seemed cooler.Japan has the replicant protag back in 2010, US got gruff daddy because the Japanese protag wasn't deemed manly enough for western audiences or some shit
This version brings back the Japanese protag
the Americans were at it again Horse
About three years before the game's release date, when the project began to take shape, Saito took pains to include the North American and UK localizers and marketing department members in the development process. His goals were to guarantee a profit with appeal to Western audiences since Drakengard had poor sales in the West.glad they changed it back purely because a siblings story resonates with me (and most young people?) more.
He, Yoko, and key members of the design team had a meeting with the Western staff in Los Angeles. Western staff members expressed immediate concerns with making Nier a multi-platform for the changing next gen market and told the Japanese staff that they didn't want the same experience on both consoles. Therefore, Yoko had the daring idea to make the experience unique for each platform. This began the earliest start of the father and daughter concept.
During the same meeting, the Western staff criticized that it was "too comical" to have a skinny boy swinging around a giant sword in a serious narrative. They wanted "a realistic hero" to better appeal to adult players in the West. Saito argued that realism shouldn't apply to a fantasy narrative, and both sides argued for an entire day over the matter. Eventually, Saito relented to the Western staff's concerns. Yoko, who wasn't specialized in thinking about Western audience's preferences, complained to Saito and began to lose motivation. "You say that, but if you change the protagonist that much, we don't want to make it..." It's with this notion that Japan kept their planned brother and sister story
Even though both Niers were made at the same time, Saito and Yoko underestimated the workload that came with the decision. A new design had to be made for Father Nier. Character dialogue, which was being written in a frenzy even as the meeting took place, had to be rewritten to include the father's persepective. Camera angles during pre-rendered cutscenes had to be altered. Developers were becoming exhausted by the end. Saito was optimistic. "We'll make the two versions somehow," while dodging his superiors' inquiries over the cost.
Before release, Saito was made aware of a key discrepancy in the UK team's claims. In England and Germany, the general consensus was in favor for Father Nier. But France was looking forward to experiencing Replicant and complained about how they were robbed of the original Japanese experience. According to him, many French players ended up importing it rather than buying Gestalt. Yoko was amused by American critics' comments about Father Nier's passiveness, though he took issue on the game's graphics being the main selling point for them.

Grubb also says that The Coalition is working on Gears 6 and a new IP. The rumblings have been that Gears is not next fall and Microsoft is giving it more time, so I wonder when all these things even land.
By LabouredPatriot Go To PostHe also says they've been dragged into the dev blackhole known as Halo Infinite.I expect a great deal of Xbox studios have touched Halo at this point. Last year, we knew that they had internal Microsoft developers and Turn 10 helping on it, plus at least three third party studios trying to get it finished.
The final credits are going to have like 3,000 names.
