During the game Breen told an anecdote about Kobe describing a rookie Julius Randle as Lamar Odom in Zach Randolph's body and I think thats the best player comp I've ever heard.

The Hornets committed a flagrant foul with 1:09 remaining in the game down 8 points.
1:09 to go, up 8, 2 free throws and possession and still lose. If I was a Kings fan I might give up basketball.

By DY_nasty Go To Postwait til march 1st to fire your black coach lmao
Doesn’t seem like it wasn’t warranted though, right? Or are GMs far more to blame in bball for poor sides?
How do coaching decisions work anyhow? There seemed to be outrage when Wolves picked up a Raptors assistant. In football if a club hired an assistant coach from any other club in the world literally no one would give a shit lol
The outrage about the Wolves related to the process: they fired Saunders and hired Finch literally overnight with no interviews. You almost never see assistants from other teams get hired during the year.
If they hired Finch during the off-season after a round of interviews, it's different.

This would again be no issue in football. Slight consternation if a team poaches another’s manager, but they get a pay off and it’s all good. Wonder if it’s because there’s much more relative parity in basketball - no clear hierarchy in terms of finances.
By n8 dogg Go To PostDoesn’t seem like it wasn’t warranted though, right? Or are GMs far more to blame in bball for poor sides?the hawks are in a weird situation where they need a scapegoat and it essentially can't be their franchise point guard who is a sham or the GM who cut big checks bringing in talent just a few months back

every team's situation is a bit different but i'll kinda explain where i can. the east is plainly bad this year - so teams that can't meet expectations when the conference as a whole is struggling? they have immediate fingers to point when a team isn't stepping up. stevens with the celtics, pierce with the hawks... those teams aren't tanking and are aimed forward. they shouldn't be hitting the walls that they are.
the wolves issue is unique because that team is astronomically bad, but they were bad last year and their entire perspective on their situation is delusional. they traded away their pick to get a guy who essentially made their team worse. firing their coach wasn't something unexpected, but the fact they hired someone else on another team immediately without going through a transparent and open coaching interview process is against all practices in the NBA. even if they knew who they wanted right away, they shouldn't have been able to pick up another guy from another team without notifying that team and requesting permission to interview. especially not mid season. they're going to get punished for it, its only a matter of time.

GMs don't get nearly enough blame for shitty teams, but they get booted too..
Also, I wanted Mac-10 back, but not like this.
It will be interesting to see Mac-10 and Young working together tho.

Also factor that minority hiring is a HUGE issue and the wolves not at least faking the process is a bad look.
