By Red Blaster Go To Postmale v has the worst voice acting for a main character in foreverReason I'm picking female V. Got enough of the male VA in the trailers.

That's actually fucked up.
By Lunatic Go To PostFilm grain and motion blur off are the first settings I go for.Film grain and chromatic abberation being a thing in video games makes no sense lol fucking gamers I swear

By Laboured Go To PostApparently DLSS doesn't play nice with film grain.
I turned film grain, MB and CA off, enabled DLSS ultra performance right off the bat. It looked good overall in terms of picture quality, but once I climbed a radio tower at the start there was some odd visual artefacts across the desert landscape. Went up to the normal performance DLSS setting and they seemed to disappear along with a large percentage of my frame rate. Lmao
Game looks great overall though. I knocked some of the ultra settings down a notch, think I’m on medium RT lighting. Mostly sitting in the 50-60 range thus far with some scenes dropping into the 40 ranges. Bless gsync for smoothing the fluctuations out.
Really surprised that movement and shooting doesn’t feel that janky. Even shooting out of a car window feels closer to Far Cry 5 mechanically than it does to anything Bethesda has touched.
Driving feels alright too, even with WASD. I was really expecting a shitshow so I’m pleasantly surprised.
Though I did encounter a glitch in the first 25 minutes out in the desert. Mans was floating above the road.
Couldn’t take a screenshot in game due to playing in HDR, so accept my ancient iPhone 6 camera pic instead.

I mean so does putting tracing paper over your monitor
or squinting
By MonadL Go To PostCaved once again. Cyberpunk craving was too stronk.Same lol. 13 Sentinels wasn’t really doing it for me right now.
if it runs better on XSX then I'll get one along with a few ping pong balls
you jump around freely between them later and its brilliant
By Perfect Blue Go To PostSame lol. 13 Sentinels wasn’t really doing it for me right now.it starts off slow, finish their prologues first. The owls are not what they seem

By Wahabipapangus Go To Postthis game looks fucking amazing.we've been waiting for your screen dumps
and the abomination u created
By sy Go To Postyeah rdr2 still open world king but 2077 can look better when it all comes together at times.I don’t know what wizardry was behind it, but the way RDR2 handled LOD fade in was immaculate. For how large the game world is, and how relatively fast you could move through it on a horse, I never noticed pop-in.
That said, pop in doesn’t really bother me so I don’t really look for it. I’ve noticed it a few times in Cyberpunk but I’m not arsed by it. I don’t even consider it a form of jank.
I'm not going to lie, the game still looks good without RTX and you get close to double the frames. But because you don't see the tricks they have to use to try and replicate it when it's turned off, everything just feels more natural.
RTX ON
RTX OFF
RTX ON
RTX OFF
By diehard Go To Posti think you accidentally posted the same picture
The whole upstairs section and under the pool table are the most notable examples. If you look closer you can see other things that look more natural, like the guy on the far left (half out of shot) has much deeper shadows on his body parts that are facing away from the light. Or the shadow above the circular light that hangs over the arcade machines.
But like I said they've done a good job of replicating it. This is from the first scene in the game so it's a fair comparison.
I'm just not sure ive seen anything from RTX to justify the massive fps drop. I guess its just personal preference and thats fine.
It's massively noticeable during every scene. Gives a more true to life experience and that's not even hyperbole.

i cant decide if i hate or love this chicken skin stuff
anyway
here's some garbage
The worst things so far has been quality of life stuff, like the fucking menus. Even the cursor sucks. and for whatever reason there is massive dead zones when playing on ultrawide with the menus, so you can really only use the mouse cursor on a normal 16:9 ratio. So kind of forces you to use the keyboard or mousepad there instead. Shooting feels fairly decent so far, havent tried any melee, but the stealth certainly was a bit meh.

Are you talking about in-motion or just in screenshots?
By diehard Go To PostI'm just not sure ive seen anything from RTX to justify the massive fps drop. Lighting imo is harder to spot since devs are very good at faking it. The difference between ray traced shadows and reflections are night and day though imo.
By blackace Go To PostAre you talking about in-motion or just in screenshots?Just the screenshots I've seen here. I'm not sure I've seen it in motion.
I'll have to give it a real shot when i can pick it up.

That said, pop in doesn’t really bother me so I don’t really look for it. I’ve noticed it a few times in Cyberpunk but I’m not arsed by it. I don’t even consider it a form of jank.
It does also make sense, that the first almost on rails scenes, have lightning and so on baked in very well. But I'm also impressed at how well they fakes a lot of it.

I don't want to buyyyyyy this gaaaaaame, it looks like it has tons of stuff that would bug me
But what if I love it for some reason
Wait, is melee tied to the triggers

I would say those are the least noticeable compared to screen space solutions
I'm pretty sure Rockstar solution is super aggressive TAA that blurs everything so you don't notice it (which people weren't happy about)
By sy Go To PostWhat's the best showcase for raytraced shadows? I would say those are the least noticeable.
well lightning and shadows goes a bit hand in hand. think metro shows it off well
I know RT GI is the top shelf stuff but some games like COD only feature ray traced shadows.
Compared to something like Days Gone which uses screen space shadows:
I don't see much of an upgrade compared to RT shadows and it doesn't have the same obvious visual drawback of screen space reflections since you're not going to notice missing or inaccurate shadows of objects that aren't on your screen.

Edit: Shit you already brought it up!
RT Shadows is much more precise Sy. The SSR trick Sony Bend and Sucker Punch uses to emulate shadows works really well, but has its own drawbacks.

SS shadows get the job done much better than SSR vs RT reflections.
