If you push that distance out for the transitions the framerate will take a huge hit. So either the transitions are aggressive, or you have an even more aggressive anti-aliasing solution which 100% I would not prefer
By Lupercal Go To PostAnyone been able to kill or incapacitate a cyberpsycho yet?it depends tbh. some cyberpsychos hit different plain and simple. but i beat two at around level 8 iirc... they haven't given me too much trouble yet, but there's certain areas that i KNOW are not for me yet
I'm lvl 14 now but they always just oneshot me, do I just need to level more before I try?
i haven't put a single point in body either.

Nah, some transitions for some objects (I assume decided by class) are super close to the camera when they happen. Some smart fuckers need to reverse engineer however the fuck R* managed their magic on RDR 2 cus that stuff is still breath-taking imo.
By Laboured Go To PostThere's some LOD stuff that can't be pushed out on PC and I'm confused as to why. You could fuck with all that via ini on TW3.Give the modders time.
Though I’m not finding the LOD distances all that noticeable. I suppose it’s one of those things, depending on what you focus your eyes on while playing you either do or don’t notice it. Like screen tearing for some people.
Especially with the obscene amount of foliage in any direction or the density of St.Denis
I don't know how any of this works but could it be as simple as Rockstar crunching out a ridiculous amount of LOD models for their assets so the transition is smoother? Iirc don't most games have 2 maybe 3 different LOD levels for geometry ?

That will be roughly half of the solution I imagine. But the fade in of assets and higher quality ones is so clever. And there are some long distance scenes where I can't even pretend to know what the trickery is. You can see everything and the quality is unbelievably high.
I'd be so fascinated to hear a breakdown of how they did it, but R* never give up their secrets.

On the slightly spoilery front, did the mission at Clouds looking for Evelyn. Very RPG, took a lot of saves/reloads to get through without resorting to cutting everybody up.
Especially talking it out with the boss there, an absolute cunt to get around. Threats and bribes got me nowhere, think I reloaded 3-4 times just to figure him out. Probably the strongest the dialogue tree has been thus far.

By Laboured Go To PostWhen you attempt skill check dialogue options how do you know when you succeed / fail?If they're on the screen, they're generally good to go. Occasionally you'll see stuff that shows <skill> x (points you got) / y (points you need).
By Laboured Go To PostWhen you attempt skill check dialogue options how do you know when you succeed / fail?
I could be wrong, but skill checks in a traditional sense don’t seem to be a thing.
Life path / attribute / skill options pop up here and there occasionally, but they seem to only be an option when you meet the requirements, or the option is not presented as you don’t meet the requirements. When they are there, they just work. They seemingly just add extra information to a conversation rather than give you an easy win for an ideal outcome.
From what I’ve seen, the dialogue is much closer to Deus Ex HR without any of the augments to assist. You feel them out and weave through the best options presented to get through with the ideal outcome.
I don't think anything significant comes from them before Act 2 really. Some times it'll make life easier (new route, avoid a fight, more loot, etc), other times its just more info.

I am surprised so far with how much he is in the game, I thought he as just going to be some meme cameo like you said. But then again I purposely didn't look to learn much about the game.
Cyberpunk doesnt even have proper culling for its characters. That's how terrible its degree of optimisation is.
Question is how long it can take them.

Duke Kaboom
Did a side gig that I was way underleveled for earlier. Had to talk/stealth through it because the gang inside were two-shotting me.
It was in some small hotel. I checked in, bribed the maintenance guy to open up a room so I could look around. Then had to go upstairs and find a way into another locked room.
Didn’t meet the requirements for tech/body to open it, tried sneaking through a different room and going over the balcony but I was greeted to another locked door.
So I explored more, noticed some stairs that led outside and to the street. Noticed an AC unit on the outside wall and it looked like I could just make the jump to it from the stairs. So I tried it, barely made the jump and followed it around to the other side of the balcony. Finally found an unlocked door but their was 3 guards in the room.
Spotted a TV to hack as a distraction, grabbed the drugs and legged it back out.
Sounds fairly simple, but the whole process of problem solving through it was great to play through. It felt like the solution I found wasn’t the intended route. If I was higher levelled I could’ve sliced through the place and popped open the doors.
Neo even popped up after getting a whiff of the drugs. Shit like this is why I’m enjoying the game as much as I am. It’s the Deus Ex game I never knew I wanted.

Gosh it is awful.
I paid victor of as soon as I had money. Then I had no money. Then I did a money story quest, and had no money. So I had to go get money. Then I gave the money and I’m a broke boy again.
I did one of the boxing side quests and my punches did 1% damage. Dude then knocked me out in two shots. Why the fuck the game even open up some impossible sidequests early on.

But fr - I'm doing a quest where I'm in some serial killer/child abductors dreams and it's fucking with me something serious. I needed a drink. Wasn't expecting it.

I kinda can’t believe it came to this. Don’t many games come out a buggy mess that requires constant updates? Why is Cyberpunk singled out? I’m not trying to defend them, just really curious. Are all developers on notice now for releasing buggy games that aren’t ready now? Did Sony just want to make an example of them and flex?

The game is below 720p, runs at 12-15fps and hard locks for over 60 seconds occasionally while driving, crashes often and sometimes hard crashes the whole console.

Finished the main storyline. I left a backup save, because I want to finish the rest of the more "important" gigs, and go for another ending.
I need to sit with this. On one hand it's got shit that I crucify other games for (plus some):
-No minigames
-No extra activities for the romance
-Bugs can get in the way of emotional scenes or engaging set-pieces
-The police are already a non-factor and the AI still manages to be terrible
-Audio glitches pop up, during the worst of times
-Bad UI
-The fucking montage should have been gameplay
The list actually goes on, and yet, it's still some of the most fun I've had playing a game like it.
-The freedom that you have to accomplish a mission isn't quite Hitman status, but it's beyond GTA and better than the most recent Dues Ex games.
-The sidequests are strong...like brolic. What the fuck at Sinnerman (and I noped out of this one) and the depression one...to start with. The politician one as well. Lizzy. They are ace at this shit.
-Night City has a lot of vertical space that you can traverse.
-Even if it doesn't want to say much of anything, the main story and how Keanu's character fit in it, played out well.
-It's fun.
I dunno. It's a mix of insane highs and genre quality of life changes, mixed with bugs that can break immersion in the most unfortunate of situations and the console scam. I'm not mad that I spent the bread on this...at all. I'd love to see them get a second try at the world and a sequel. Witcher fans gotta hold that, if were up to me. Shit, I might wake up and be like, "this is one of my faves now". We'll see. I still have missions to clear.
Now, I will say that this does the one thing that annoys me to no ends: and that is that you can tell a bunch of dudes (read however you want to) made the shit. It's really easy to pick up on when a character is talking, vs when the author is speaking through them. I haven't seen the blm dig, in game (I don't need to), but there were a couple of points where I couldn't help but be taken out of the moment, because the character started talking about shit that skewed a little to close to their real world controversy. That and the ads are all juvenile as fuck (mf'ers must still be pissed at their moms or whomever).
Hey, Total Recall had a chick with not two, but THREE TITTIES. Here's an ad, for a chick with THREE MOUTHS. If you didn't know how horny we are, here's another one next to it, and next to that, and next to that. And here's another ad, where we call em whores, next to the last 10 that we did. Bruh, are ya'll 5 or some shit? The fuck. lol
I get this is a love letter to the bombastic, hyper-violence and gratuitous nature of American cinema and the anime that inspired it as well (hell...the game takes place in America). One could almost call it satire, but clearly I don't trust that it was. Restraint would have gone a long way here. Instead, I have to hear some silly ass dude's (or woman's) thoughts on pronouns, in a world where mf'ers are damn near all metal. Them being European isn't a fucking excuse either.
At any rate. What a mixed bag of genre defining highs and missed potential. Glad I played it though.
Panam and Judy get protected, at all costs.

YouTube’d some videos of the base version and am wondering why Microsoft hasn’t pulled the game yet. Microsoft should take this opportunity to let everyone know now that they will abandon the Xbox One version of Halo Infinite and use cyberpunk as a reference.
Microsoft didn't say shit about MCC being broken for years, I'd doubt do would now with one of their better partners.

Knack consistently hard locked my PS4 and ran like shit, BF4 consistently crashes to the console menu. I never played F76 on a console, but it was far worse for glitches in general, and the online was broken as fuck.
The story and side missions are so good it makes dealing with the bullshit worth it, I also do like the loot system so far, I haven't dipped into crafting at all but still feel like i'm progressing with finding loot and it's felt like a gradual increase. Some of the loot looks stupid as hell but eh whatever.
