By cRrusheR Go To PostIt doesn’t match the image they created for themselves nor their previous work that brought them so much success. We’ll see if this hurts them in the long run. A lot people out there thinking it’s not a good game because they are playing it on a PS4. Can’t imagine the reaction of somebody who bought it for the X1.
Expectations and user bases innit.
I'll get to see that reaction soon, and I can't wait. He's got an original Xbox One too.
By Mister Go To PostI haven't decided yet, torn between hacking + stealth or a weeb samurai build with a melee focus. or both.by all accounts, hacking seems okay. I've read somewhere that melee isn't actually that bad either? You can always be a ninja hacker I guess

the katana actually felt decent in the tutorial. I see potential in it with the perks involving movement and melee.
By Flutter Go To Postlmao cant believe you took that argument personally
Nothing wrong with making a joke about it. It felt like a reasonable discussion to me anyway

Biggest problem with it is when you're trying to stab someone up and they've got a gun, you're running into bullets to get to them.

The problem I’m having with just exploring the city is you get missions left right and centre, usually through calls because you’re close to where they start. I’ve reloaded a few times now because I didn’t want to have a million missions and conversations to read over
By Yurtlicious Go To Postsounds cool actually lolI just get flashbacks to Bethesda Fallout games. I feel like one of the enemies running at me with a baseball bat while I'm pelting them with a gauss rifle.
Brothers that heist was so great. The cursed thing is I want to pause and take screenshots all he time

good thing about cdpr is that you know they're gonna fix the perks sooner or later, as it stands, it's super grindy.
I've been reading some impressions and it does seem that there's a genuinely very good / great game lurking beneath the launch woes.
Hopefully they'll step it up with patching so we'll at least get Yurt back, one of the og CD Projekt evangelists. Sad to see him in such a state, caught between wanting the game to be everything he's hoped it would be and slinging crap at the PC crowd, guilty only of having it all.

One thing about screenshots that annoys me is that it keeps the in game cursor in screenshot mode if you use Nvidia overlay. Also reloading screenshot settings is annoying. I wish they had worked in Ansel as well.

Yeah. Fucking chromatic aberration turning on EVERY FUCKING TIME
I've just been cruising around doing gigs and rent-a-cop shit. Still got to do the mission for dex fletcher.
By Wahabipapangus Go To PostYeah. Fucking chromatic aberration turning on EVERY FUCKING TIME
For me it just the DoF and character, but it’s still annoying to have to go to load settings and hold backspace

look under effect breh, chromatic aberration also turns on every time. but yeah, the dof and characters suck too.
Doesn’t turn on itself on for me luckily. The DoF I turn off in game as well, just not a fan of simulated lens or vision effects in general. All that stuff goes straight off
By Facism Go To PostI've just been cruising around doing gigs and rent-a-cop shit. Still got to do the mission for dex fletcher.Yeah I heard you can do jobs for cops and beat up nonviolent gang members. lmao smh

None of them have been nonviolent for me 😅
Game looks good without rtx, thinking of just turning it off and going with 120fps ultra instead of suffering with dlss artifacts going and shiny roads
By Laboured Go To PostDisgusting. Deleting the game again.boy, i really i hope someone got fired for that blunder

By Marston Go To PostNot sure how to feel about the driving model. Then again I'm still driving a shit car.Feels fine to me with a controller. Terrible with WASD though, considering i came first In the race in Mafia with WASD, I know when shit’s terrible in that regard.
It could definitely be improved on, but as it is using a controller then I’d say it’s serviceable.
It seems at odds though that such a “PC game” handles so terribly with what most PC players use by default, M&KB. From the odd default keybinds, to the driving, the weird as fuck double tap to dodge, etc. it all feels so unintuitive to control apart from aiming.
A controller is def the way to go.
By Lupercal Go To PostSo what path are you guys taking for perks?
I've picked Blades: Armor while moving 2/2, Extra crit damage 2/2. The HP regen trait and some hacking traits because I kept fucking up.
Not sure. I'm on normal, but the sniper rifle I have is...whoa. Probably going to put a bunch of points in Hacking and Stealth. Getting a crit bonus, because I'm hiding and getting a headshot, yooooo folks drop quick af.

Same here. Absolutely ZERO of them have been nonviolent. I did a gig, where I had to find a cop, and I don't even know wtf triggered half of the damn city trying to kill me. "There goes V! KILL HER!"
I might do the same, tbh. I'll probably turn it on for screenshots. As pretty as it is, I like consistency. I know they're two different games with different priorities, but Control's reflections impress me way more than some of the RT stuff that I see here.

I'm having fun. The recent Dues Ex games had their issues, but I enjoyed them for what they were. Gonna be the same here, I think. Still early game though. I'll probably have a better grasp on it, once I do this mission for Dex and Evelyn.

It's not about that, usually in normal modes you can coast through the game with just the basics of combat/perks, with hard you're kinda forced to use everything at your disposal.
There's Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard.
For the last one it says you need to be careful with character development, and it's necessary to be clever with items, game mechanics, and the environment (in addition to cyberwear, perks, gadgets, and consumables for Hard)

Still can't quite figure out controller sensitivity settings that work perfectly for me yet.
Also the (fake) HDR doesn't seem worth it, with the quality mode actually being quite taxing (I think).

I don't know, having reading to impressions, it seems I am getting the opposite vibes. It just seems to me a game that had lofty ambitions and halfway through the development, revert back to standard open world affair after figuring out that they can't that target.
That and the writing is terrible. Don't know about the story and the larger world building though.
