By n8 dogg Go To PostI’d put Mane above Salah myself
Based on....
Scores a similar amount of goals, I think he contributes more in build up, and I think he’s more entertaining to watch.

Salah has scored around 25 more goals than Mane in about 20 games less and has assisted more than Mane (in both the league and CL). Obviously, two incredible players. Stats alone as usual don't tell the whole story though, but I would argue that Salah has also been way more consistant over the same time period, Mane can be a bit streaky.
Mane might get a bit more involved in the build up than Salah, but I think that's their roles. Salah's job is the be the ice cold fucker in the final 3rd. He has a killer instinct that Mane can lack at times, and that Firmino certainly doesn't have.
Again, two incredible players. But from the stats alone, Mane certainly doesn't deserve to be above him...never mind 3 places above him.
Edit: Checked out their international stats too, same amount of games played. Salah has more assists and more than double the amount of goals.
By Killer7 Go To PostDCL had very little support going forward. Richarlison going off probably didn't help.DCL is playing for scraps atm. We have a non-existent midfield of Siggurdsson, Davies and Gomes. You can literally play no one there and we would have the same result. Doucoure was covering for everyone in the midfield, naturally he will be overwhelmed and tired.
Man united changed 9 players (9 PLAYERS) so we couldn't cope with their Pace and directness.
The depth of squad and the level of exhaustion was our undoing. We just don't have the personnel to compete. The fact that we beat Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal is a miracle itself.
I would really not play DCL, Keane, Doucoure the next 2 games. If we lose, so be it. They have played so much minutes and I am worried about their well being long term.
Tight margins between two amazing players, but I guess I'd take the better raw output over the added workrate in a team of very hard working players, It's not like Mane stands out for working hard in that team. The incredible workrate is Liverpool's thing. You could get another player who works just as hard quite easily (although of course you'd lose a fair amount of attacking output), but you're going to be hardpressed to find a player who can match Salah's numbers which at the end of the day have won a huge amount of points for Liverpool.
CL final btw (point of posting that isn't to show Mane as being ineffective, obviously not, but yeah I think people can underestimate how much bite they can lose without Salah when Mane is going through a dry spell)

Was just looking at 2019-20. Salah had 23 goals in 48 games (45 starts) and Mane had 22 goals in 47 games (41 starts). Admittedly this season, Salah has 16 in 21 games (19 starts) and Mane has 6 in 20 games (17 starts). Think I just believed Mane was more crucial overall in the way the play and the way they win.

Yeah last season for sure they were the closest they've been, which is the outlier in the sense that Salah is usually comfortably ahead in both goals and assists. Mane probably was the better player last season. Normal service this season though.
Arguing about Mane vs Salah misses the bigger picture that Van Dijk is better than both and yet another example that football people remain completely unable to accurately judge defenders and goalkeepers versus attacking positions.
The spreadsheet is quite amusing
3 of them didn't include Messi in the top 40, and 8 didn't include Ronaldo
Someone thinks Patrick Bamford is the 18th best player in the world, Lloris 8th best, and Rashford the best
Hazard somehow made the top 100, and in fact you could make the top 100 with just 10/241 votes as Hazard did

Or Mane v Salah is a talking point and van Dijk is just accepted as being the best in his role. Fucking 5head shit I know.
By Hixx Go To PostOr Mane v Salah is a talking point and van Dijk is just accepted as being the best in his role. Fucking 5head shit I know.Every position is a talking point in some way. I would probably say Ronaldo in the top 3 is the biggest error of the top 10, but it's not really surprising given his reputation. Van Dijk in 10th is far worse than Salah being above Mane or vice versa
Van Dijk average score is higher than Salah but below Mane
Personally I would exclude the votes of any judge who didn't include a player in their top 40 that received >120 votes

take away pens and mane clearly outperformed salah last season
different story this season though
anyway tuchel's gone, looks like psg are getting poch

Hazard barely played to be in the top anything, he's just always been injured, recovering from injury or not in form to be playing.

By faridmon Go To PostArsenal in tatters. They were after Pochettino. Were we?
Now they have to do with Allegri!
I don't think our board is even thinking about sacking Moyteta
Arsenal could go for Tuchel. They shouldn't but they could. Although I suppose he does have mid-table experience.

Should the sack come.
It was rumoured anyway, I don't know how strong it was.
It was between Poch, Allegri and Benitez.
Whether they will want to go there, I dunno about that.
By Punished* Go To PostArsenal could go for Tuchel. They shouldn't but they could. Although I suppose he does have mid-table experience. After Emerey, don't know if they want another PSG reject
Don't want Tuchel, another mediocre PSG manager that somehow cannot win the league with their squad and 2 of the best players in the world
So we're definitely getting him.
PSG getting Poch means they'll become one of the best teams in the world

Sunderland takeover confirmed (pending EFL approval in the New Year but doubt it'll be rejected).
Probably the biggest news in the UK today. What a Christmas.

And Alisson sent him one back for every time Messi managed to progress past a team he was keeper for.
Apparently this Dreyfus guy is a smart and savvy and loves football, so a really good deal for Sunderland!
Its just a matter of time before they become a Premier League team!
