Not a 9 by any stretch, but I had a decent time with The Order. I played it months after release when it dropped to like 15€, expected the worst game ever, but it was alright for the money. Once again waiting pays off.

By Laboured Go To PostAlpha giving GTA:SA an 84 makes him the most wise one here.
It'd only be a few podcasts at most, there's only so much to share before content runs out.

I never played or reviewed The Order. Anything you see on PSXE over the past 7-8 years is not my work.

i agree with brother zabo.
the sequel could've been phenomenal.
PS5 drops becoming more common and lasting a little bit longer. Today was full of drops from Amazon, Target, and PS Direct.
I'm not sure if mainland yurop had a single series x restock. Certainly none here. PS5 goes instant but at least they are coming in regularely. Series S is pilling up at retail lol.
I'm enjoying the Series X, but it's got a few bits I don't like.
I find the UI annoyingly hard to navigate. Nothing seems sensibly placed
Downloads go at about a 1/10 the speed when you're playing a game
The UI in 1080p on a 4k screen looks weirdly odd because of all the sharp edges
You can't choose when turning off the console whether to shut down or rest, it's one or the other depending on your settings

@alpha/zabo
what game(s) got your highest review scores?
@alpha
your SA take is very odd considering how the series declined mechanically in later entries and how Rockstar and other developers have recently re-embraced sim mechanics that SA introduced to set themselves apart from other open world games.

PS5 rumored to have sold 3M in the first 4 weeks(3x as much as the PS4)

The framerate really is what brought the game down for me, followed closely by the repetitive missions. The gameplay was close to a 9, but brought down by visual hiccups - it went down as much as 15fps in areas, and the draw-in was horrendous, from what I recall. The replay value was a 10, because the game was absolutely massive and felt never ending...but if it felt like a chore to play the story sometimes either because the mission would be a snooze-fest or the framerate would be in the low 20s. At the end of the day, an 84 is still a very good score.
I gave out a handful of 10s - I wasn't that much of a tight ass and didn't it as seriously as others did. MGS2, MGS3, MGS4, Chrono Cross, Gran Turismo 3-5, FFX, and FFXII (possibly some others).
10 didn't mean perfect, but it represented the very best in its genre and that you absolutely must play it.

By Hitch Go To PostI smell an MGS ranking argument
From MGS1-4, it's extremely difficult to rank them, imo. They all did a lot of relatively different things. Snake Eater really changed the formula, but MGS2 had some really shocking elements. MGS4 took everything that made the previous 3 so incredible, and brought it back with a spin, although the cutscenes did drag on.
For me its
MGS3
MGS1
MGS Twin Snakes
MGS Peace Walker
MGS2
MGS4
MGS5 (didn't finish it, fucking hated it)
MGS Portable Ups
Haven't played the rest.

MGS5 looked like total shit. It's the first time I skipped an MGS game outright.

I had to borrow a PS4 from a friend, and bought the game without owning the console.
Daftest thing i have done. Regret it it so much!
By AlphaSnacks Go To PostMGS5 looked like total shit. It's the first time I skipped an MGS game outright.Good. The first hour was great imo.
Then the rest sucked :(
Doesn't take away any of the greatness of the previous titles though
First half of MGS5 is pretty great besides the intro. It's crazy how you can tell the exact point that dev stopped/ran out of money/locked kojima up. Act 1 was great then all of a sudden you have to replay missions to proceed lol

Initially for the PS4, and I played the first hour or so. Then I was staying at my gf’s house for a week or so and really wanted to play more of it. She had a PS3 there so I bought it for that while I was staying.
Never finished it, on either system. Kiefer was a shit cast too.
I just can’t for the life in me understand why Sony would come up with a back button attachment for the DS4 late in its life for players to elevate their game, then release the DualSense without a back button attachment for it, and on top of that make the DS4 not compatible with PS5 games.
What a company.

Might as well offer attachments or more expensive controllers for those that want it, but it's certainly not something you can push onto the masses.
By Pennywise Go To PostJust take a look at what the Dualsense already costs.I know but I did say attachment and that thing was definitely selling way better than expected, sold out for months.

I’m sure that in competitive games like Rocket League and FIFA and shooters some advanced players got hooked on it and now they got it yanked in next-gen versions of those games.
But honestly the transition would be better handled if the DS4 was allowed to be used for PS5 games. Technically the only input difference between it and the DS is the microphone, which most games don’t use.
People are turning off the adaptive triggers altogether to play FIFA PS5, as they are quite annoying there....
Tbf the DS4 is a bonafide universal controller with official Sony support for PC/Mac and iOS/Android, which the DualSense isn’t yet. Maybe by then they’ll throw an updated back button attachment.
Also I guess they want to sell that charging dock, which isn’t compatible with a back button attachment.
Metal Gear Solid is the greatest gaming series of all time.
Silent Hill 2 is the greatest story ever told.
Pro Evo on PS2 is still the best football game to this day.
Konami were on fire..
