Positive Demon's Souls would run on a PS4 at 30fps but the tessellation would have to be dialed back so much that it'd look like a different game. It's crazy to think this type of fine detail combined with realtime GI is possible at launch for a 60fps game, I need more next gen games asap.

No because the frame rate is pretty much locked on both modes.

Like how Xbox had a ton of tearing and the fps was fluctuating from 50-60 with Valhalla prepatch. If you had a $1500 TV with VRR, it would look like a locked 60fps with no tearing.
Probably a choice they were forced to make when even the OS has more than a few bugs.

Also only allowing 32Gbps through HDMI 2.1 (which I assume is part and parcel of VRR not working?). Very odd. Will get patched in tho.
